Hey gang, My Dad found an awesome engine for Faye It's a 235 that this guy put some serious money into and then gave up on when the head got cracked. He put in a V8 and sold the 235 to us for a beyond reasonable price. I'm not sure on all the specifics (Dad?), but it comes with a ton a performance parts, set up for dual exhausts and carbs, chrome valve cover, etc. We're going to drop the oil pan on the 216 and hopefully get the knock out of it so I can do local riding for a while and put the 235 in sometime this fall if the 216 holds out that long. So... I need to get a head for the 235, it's a 59... Valves and rockers arms are good just need the head itself. Anyone got one? Stacey
I may have a head, let me look in a mirror, errrr I mean the shop. I have a core engine I'm gonna rebuild for my truck and some other parts, just need to check...

I got a head on the parts car in my backyard... 60 Bel Air... 848 casting... but... shipping would be horrible? Travis
Congrats...rebuilt engine? Existing head to machine shop? Hamb Classifieds? Call me when you set up the swap party (not the kind they are thinking).
That's good news Stacey. I know you're anxious to get Faye back on the road. Travis- know anybody who can get it to the HAMBdrags? I could pick it up there and get it to Stacey around Lead East. Just a thought as long as time is not an issue. Bil
I'm sure somebody from California should be going to the HAMB drags... anybody? I'm just outside of Sacramento... I can deliver it within reason to anybody who is going to the drags... Travis
I've got one from a '54. Only has 8,000 miles on it since it came from NAPA. Then one of the rods decided it needed a picture window on each side of the block. You got a way to get it from north Georgia to Maryland? $100. I've also got a never run, NAPA rebuilt one from a '52 if anybody needs it. $150. Rodney
HC... That's cuz this time a girl is asking for it!! Sounds like the head in GA is a good bet... I don't know what condition mine is in. I was told this 235 had the same problem as your 216... Rod knock but still ran good? Travis

[/ QUOTE ] Yup, EVERYTHING in it is new... there's over a grand in the bottom end alone. Dad and Chuck pulled the cracked head off of it and it's all new inside and out. Once we get this head fixed or replaced I should be able to drive that sucker till the cows come home. Stacey
Hey guys... Thanks for the many wonderful offers. I've got lots of folks looking so I'm hoping something relatively local turns up. I hate to have anyone schlep this thing cross-country on my account so we'll make that a last resort. I'm also looking into having this block welded if that's possible. I'm in no urgent need at the moment so I'm fine with looking locally a bit more before doing a HAMB relay. I'll keep everyone posted. I'll post pics of the new engine when we go pick it up. Stacey
I've got a few. What condition are you looking for? Bare? I'm in Missouri and will be at the drags. Let me know if you want me to bring one. r
