This guy used to sell really cool windshields but his website is down. His name is Ian Roussel I think. Way kustom metal works. 818-237-0132. longshanxxx.com was the website.
OK PM me with your name etc. Also we are just finishing the folding deluxe style posts for the 28 29!! Norb
Damn, I suck at this pic thing... And the Rodder's Journal mistakenly called this one a Sellers Equipped Reop.. Not the case, the history of these windshields is pretty interesting. Turns out that the guy who first made em did the in a shop class at Lakewood High. He only made enough for his car club and some friends. Very hard to find, and went and cut one up...
in 1930 Duke designed his windsheild somewhat copied from an Auburn he had it patterned and cast in bronze 2 of his friends Dick Stuelky & Johnny Collins along with Duke's brother Jud then had windsheilds cast and they became the Derelicts Club Duke gave away the patterns in 1939 to Ed Adams from Whittier who made 7 or 8 more for the knight riders club supposidly 12 or less were originally made the work on the originals was never done in the Fullerton school foundry the 2nd incarnation cast by Dick Courtney and Frank Currie was cast in the school by making a sand mold off one of the originals from Jack Tobin's car. this was cast by melting bronze bearings from scrap WWII Liberty engines and this windsheild went onto Couryney's car.
Does anybody have a Ian Roussel windshield on ride or for sale.Cant get in touch with him to see if he still makes them.
Hey Norb, Before you get too busy sending out free windshield posts, how about sending me a tail gate that will fit the body and bed I bought from you eleven months ago. Many requests and many excuses.
Sigford Joe. I sent one tailgate, you requested a special order wider tailgate, for whatever reason we built a special order for you. No problem. You got the new tailgate a while back, I hope it fits your application. Why not send the first one back and stop whining?
In Vancouver, Wa, Mark Brislawn (founder of Briz Bumpers) makes some stantions similar to this. Contact me (PM) and I will pass along his phone number.
You might want to lay the windshield posts back on the stock set up ( like in the book How to build a Traditional Hot Rod by Tardel/ Bishop)..........Not quite a slick as a Hallock, but still very slick.
