Just spend 2 nights in ICU this week due to an internal injury. Went parts huntin' as soon as i got out of the hospital, since im off work for a bit-- and here's what i picked up... muuuuuaaahhh haaaaahhaaa.... This is for the future "Famous in Peace. Distinguished in Battle" flathead Cadillac powered roadster project... Just collecting parts for now. Anybody find that late 40's-early 50's Model A / Midget 101 Halibrand rear end for me yet? -scott noteboom
i caught a h.pylori bacteria somewhere and it has been helping eat away my esophagus for quite a bit-- and i had no idea. Then this week it ate into a large blood vessel-- and i had blood coming out both ends. Lost 4 pints-- so lucky im a big guy. im on the mend. i appreciate life a little more. -scott noteboom
Scott, Get well soon man! I now forgive you for not getting my parts . I want to see your project get done, Man, I wouldn't wish ill on anyone. As soon as you are better, get to work on that killer project!
im not going anywhere... hell, i've still got 3 projects in front of this one so i really can't. it's very likely i wont even begin this project for at least a year-- thus just slowly collecting. BTW: Kevin-- you're stuff is really bad ***.... -scott noteboom
i got the motor cores im going to use for this future project from Redbeard here on the HAMB. Going to big bore the 346 .100 over to about 366 and had a custom cam grind made (specs based on a past motor that ran well.) Dual point ignition, with bigger valves and slight porting, mated to a 3 speed Lasalle transmission w/ the Halibrand rear end. Goal for Bonneville someday = 120mph. -scott noteboom
Sounds pretty darn scary to me, but also sounds like you are taking it well and getting back on the mend. Best of luck healing up and cool score on the parts. That is a pretty nice looking body too. Should be a real nice combo.
Aw come on Scott...do the Paul Harvey thing---tell us the REST of the story. There's gotta be more to it than you just went hunting and "found" a Caddy flatty intake and heads....
I'll tell a bit. A couple of us guys in the area know of an old timer who's got a huge amount of stuff-- cars, parts-- galore. Generally this guy knows the value of the stuff that he has, but the real value is that he has stuff that you just can't find elsewhere very easy. I paid a fair, but pretty penny for this stuff. It was my scare of death in the hospital that reminded me to get the things i want out of life when i can. So, as soon as i got out-- i went over and picked this up. BTW: I've been collecting Caddy speed parts for quite a while now. I've gotten lucky through the years and have some cool stuff. And that's all i got to say about that.... Nope, wasn't me. This stuff came from nowhere near Ebay or the Internet. They've been buried on a shelf for years and i got them from an old timer who doesnt use the internet. Thanks to all for the well wishes. Im already feeling better. -scott noteboom
