Hey guys and gals just a quick update on a project. I bought a 54 chevy belair on e-bay that was in desprate need of alot of work. Was headed for a tradintional style custom, but got sidetracked alittle toward the hot rod style. The orginal frame was clipped with a late model camero and was done poorly. Crocked and 117 in wheel base. Found a fellow hamb'r with a frame and a deal was made. So now i have installed v-8 mounts, must II front end, nine inch rear end. etc. I know I have strayed a bit but I still think its lookin *****en. What do you guys think. Ill add more photos later. Thanks for all the great tips and advise.
Sounds like what I went through! I had a Camaro clip also....bought another frame from a Hamber...installed Mustang II, and now I'm good to go! Congrats on the new project...lookin' good!
Im doing something similar with my wifes 54, 210 but we are using an s-10 front clip, havnt cut anything yet but almost ready, still researching while the car sits out there stripped down to the firewall.
More photos from this weekends work. I know alot of you guys wont like the wheels (i had planned on Halibrands) but money is ***e right now an I got a great deal on these. Still have the white walls and the old painted rims...
I like the wheels, I have WW's and spiders on mine now. But I also have a set of early Americans I polished myself. My car also sits more like ahot rod than a tail dragger. But it's right for me and that's what matters. Go with what you like. Tim
