Economic Stimulus

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by gulfwarsubvet, May 9, 2008.

  1. Any of you get the direct deposits yet?

What parts are you planning on buying with it?
    Funding a car trip?

I'm gonna buy the last few parts I need to finish my 60 Comet.
Then I need to get off my ass and do the work.
With a new baby on the way time spent with the cars is pretty tight right now.
Looks like the balance will go to the wife.

  12. Couple of weeks ago one trunk of a split 80' tree blew over in our back yard. Called the tree guy we use. The quote to take the other half down along with two large and very dead Oaks? Exactly what my Uncle George sent us earlier this week. I wounder how the tree guy knew we would have that kind of excess change. Given the composition of the crew, I suspect that some of it (the money) went South of of the Rio Grande. But at least it did not go for some cheap Chinese junk.

I'm going to buy an old Dodge pick-up from a friend to use as a daily driver. Slant 6 with 3 speed stick.

  18. I just read today that there is enough oil under the US and coastal waters to run 60 million cars for 60 years and none of these assholes will allow it to be got out of the ground, not a damned one of 'em. I wouldn't give a rats ass if there was an oil derrick on Miami Beach!

I'm paying off a fuel bill on a credit card when I hauled up a trailer from Texas to Colorado and back to pick up a '35 Ford coupe body. I'm just plain shocked that the government (in whatever misguided, self-serving capacity) decided to give me back a small portion of my hard earned income.

Let us all not forget that this was originally OUR money...:(

The whole thing about all the u.s. oil that is not being drilled is kind of funny to me. I build custom eco friendly furinture for a bunch of enviromental nut jobs. They have a odd outlook on the u.s. oil, "they" think that the goverment is trying to bleed forgin oil out and when that sand pit over there is dry we can leave them alone to kill themselves and still have oil control in our own country. It sounds a little off base, but I have heard this from several customers of mine who want to save the world. Who the fuck cares, I just want to finish my roadster.

Received mine on Friday. Got a whole $300! As soon as I pay off my student loans, which will be in early July, I'm buying a frame. Well, pieces of a frame. Which then I'm going to have to buy a welder. Oh, and learn how to weld. :D

  29. Mine will barely offset the check I had to send IRS.
