Scrapping a 1964 Dodge D-200 LWB

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Benzine440, May 7, 2008.

  1. 3/4 ton LWB, 318 A-block (Poly) 4 speed. Heavy duty rear axle.8 lug wheels. Original red paint. Quad headlights. Runs. A bit battered and tattered but a neat old truck. Does anyone want anything off this before I knock it on the head and send it to the shredder? I hate to do it but can't keep it. It's sad but true, s**** prices are high and no one wants to pay anything for the truck.

If there is any interest I can delay the grim deed for a few days. Otherwise it has to go.

Sad but true. I know some guys on truck forums are all pissed off because the junkyards are sending the 60s-70s trucks to the crushers in alarming rates but the truth is those trucks would set for years waiting for nickel and dime scavengers to buy that many $$ in parts off most of them. Head em up and move em out.

I would be interested in the gauge panel and gauges if you still have them.

  4. I do. I'll check the condition today.

  5. We just painted one of those, and it looks awesome.
    This one is a D-200 4x4, 318 4 speed.
    We painted it black.

I could get a pic although its still in pieces.

I'm surprise we don't see more of these.
They really look good fixed up.

A little local yard has set one back from the crusher that is a one ton 4x4. Somewhere in the 60s I suppose, pretty turquoise with black fake vinyle top.

  8. Yeah.... would love to have a D100 of that same vintage-- somehow would make the perfect TIKI truck.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe the flywheel and bellhousing will fit an early hemi. If so, that is DEFINATELY worth saving!

If it runs I would think it's at least worth pulling the engine and ****** to keep for a project.

  13. Yes it runs. Forged crank and rods. 200 HP with 2 barrel.
