I just bought a fluid damper from Hot Heads and pulled the stock unit off. On the stock unit there is a cover that has a felt gasket. The cover was press fit onto a collar on the balancer shaft, but on the Fluiddamper there is no collar and the flange sits loose.
I went to the HH site and appears they only market one damper.
I ***ume (there I go again!) that it is a dust shield, and I don't know if it would be a good idea to run without it.
Anybody ever run into this problem before?
    Oh yeah, it's a '57 Chrysler 392..............

Yep! Call Bob on Monday. It will be a 2-minute phone call and you'll have the correct answer. Just my $.02. Good question though. Curious to see if anyone else has run into this.
