Lost my friggin mind again! New "future" project bought.....

  1. I'll never learn....
I was vending at the local swap meet Sunday and got to b.s.ing with the guy vending next to me. I had some things he needed for his project and I noticed he had an old Nash for sale. One thing led to another and I ended up with a 53 Nash sedan, with a good Nebraska title, complete with 6 or 8 months storage. I don't wanna bring it home until I get my present project on the road. On the way home from the swap meet, I swung by another buddy's shop. He'd seen my corvette rear suspension stuff laid out at the swap meet earlier in the day and told me to talk to him if it didn't sell. We struck a deal to swap my corvette stuff for a sweet running 350, 4 barrel with a fresh 350 turbo, all in an 80 Crapiece. He even threw in an S-10 front frame section to [possibly] go under the front of the Nash.......I have plenty of time to fabricate a build plan before it comes home....feast your eyes on it's wonderfulness................

Do a "Tacky Taxi" with that thing...it's a NATURAL!!!

You know...dingle balls, obnoxious graphics over a yellow base, a wheelbarrow full of doo-dads and gee-gaws added on, fancy hubcaps, twice pipes....you get the idea!

Have funny ads and legit-looking logos, numbers and lettering brushed on, too!

  15. Ahahahaha! All good shit.......keep it comin.
Hey, maybe a pan-am racer look-alike? Numbers, sponsor stickers, extra driving lights,..........I better take my ridolin now.
Really, I'm kinda leaning toward the shortened roadster version. Maybe cut the windshield down a bit.

  16. NO WAIT! it's gotta be the chopped top coupe, yeah.

Rocky, I dig the third & fourth Pics., The shortened ones. A Metropolitan on STERIODS. Call it the "Rockopolitan", I can see it gettin' sideways now. IMO.

  19. Here's a heartbreaker for ya........as I arrived at the swap meet Sunday morning, it was still dark. They directed me to park the Rocky goodtime and swapmeet van right behind this Geo Metro. My lights picked up the unmistakeable shape of E&J headlights under his car! I leaped outa the van with the engine still running and axed the dude how much he wanted for the lights? He tells me he JUST sold 'em about 4 minutes ago and the guy's gonna come for them later.
I asked the poor sap how much? forty measly dollars. He had no idea what they were. Somebody had "Plastic metaled" them into the front fenders of a 37 Willys pickup he'd bought and he busted 'em out to sell.
"They shore looked funny" he tells me as I sit with my head in my hands.....

  20. Rockopoliton? Heh heh....that's pretty cool. I like it.

Just saw a two door '53 project car... they cut in wheelwells in the front (really close to that of an early 50's chebby), looked awesome.

Shorten, section and drop in the Caprice engine, make a Nash-Rocky instead of a Nash-Healey. make a sports car out of it.

  26. Prolly gonna be my new apt. when Mrs Rocky gets wind of it. I hope that isn't till after winter. I doubt if the weatherstrip is much good in the ol' Nash and it do git cold here!
Thanks, Root. You're a lotta help.

How about a 3" or more section to go with the chopped windshield? Suicied doors? 4 or 6 97's pokeing thru the hood on a u-fab log manifold? Gotta love the odd rods.
