I am going to start mocking up my 4 link this weekend and relized that the lower parallel arms might not have to be welded to tabs on the axle, but instead bolted to the under axle bag brackets (see below). Anyone see a flaw in my plan? (the car that I'll be placing it on is a 67 chevyII Wagon I have been building for the last 8+ years) Thanks Brent Thomas Ohio
I am no expert on 4 bar set ups ,but I don't see a problem. The bag brackets I assume are welded to the axle. I would think that it would serve a dual purpose. As long as the lower bars are set correct to the uppers and everything moves freely it should be fine. Like I said though I am no expert so hopefully some one else will chime in.
Yes, they are welded to the axle tubes and since they will be for the bottom bars which are level and parallel to the frame and ground, and since the are already "perfectly" cut square, it seems like a slamming opertunity!!! Speaking of Slamming, anyone else on a "back order" for their Slam Specialties Bags?! I ordered 3 1/2 weeks ago from Suicide Doors are am STILL WAITING!! I am inbetween pissed off and waiting and finding out that others have gotten bags from SD and I'm being told they are on back order is starting to make my temps rise!! Next time I'll go through Kris Dye or VT Kustoms for my slams !!!! Anyway, anyone else like to comment as to if it seems like a good or bad idea on the behind axle bag mount idea?? Thanks bthomas71chevy
thats what I did. Works great for me. Not a very good pic but you can see the bolt for the lower bar.
