If it was me I'd send someone else and pray to God that they can get er done!

I just paid 11K for a Brookville roadster body. You're lookin' at a real 5w...think about it...bid accordingly.

If you don't like it, you can bring it down to LA Roadster show and ask $15-20K for it and probably get that, people pay crazy prices here. Remember ... 1932 3W are being reproduced, roadsters being reproduced.... 5W are NOT being reproduced......

Paying 10-12K sounds like a steal to me

I walked into a deal like this. The seller wanted 3g ,and there was a guy on the phone when I got there. He was offering 2000. I stepped up and said I would give him 2500. He spoke that into the phone and the other guy said he would buy it. I told the guy to hang up and I would give him 4000. He did, I got it, and the other guy got real mad.

Good luck on the 5 window and hope you get a great deal on it. They are one of the best looking hotrod in IMO and sounds like he's collected a few patrs for the build. I have to say if you get her for under 15K with all the garnish, firewall, decklid and isn't rotted to death you did real good. They stopped making them 75 years ago:D and sorry a repo is just that a look-a like..........

From what I just seen, looks like he wants 20K for it. (if it's the same one)
asking a guy to come down $17,500. is a pretty big step.

I paid $8500 for this, I felt it was a good deal. No floor, no sub rails, Ace Hardware galvanized wheel wells and patch panels, etc etc.

I saw one similar go for 13something on evil-bay a while back (gold color somewhere in OH10).

It's now a much better body but it's had 250+ hours and several grand to Brookville. I figure it will owe me 25+ before I'm done, which is probably stupid on my part but I really like it.

so far they aren't making any more and that will keep the prices up. Also, I looked around when I was looking for this body and found that 80% or more of the 32 5W's I saw were channeled - leaving me to beleive that a 5W highboy in good condition really is a rare commodity.

I found a complete rust free '32 5 window when I was 12 years old (I'm 39 now), and I fell in love with it. The owner would never sell it, but I kept in touch with him over the years. I would see him at shows and cruise-ins, and I would always ask about the car. I early 2002, another friend of mine asked me to come look at a '32 5 window that he had bought. Lo an behold it was the same car!!!! He bought it for $1500.00!!!!!!! I was pissed!!!!! I called the guy who sold it to him and asked why he didn't sell it to me, and he said that he didn't think I would want to pay $1500.00 for it. As it sits now, the firewall has been cut out and replaced with a '32 Chevy firewall, the roof has been filled with a Chevy dually roof because "It has the ribs in it", and Mazda sunroof sits in the middle of the roof. The frame has been boxed with diamond plate, and the cherry dash has a set of liquid filled Auto Meters in it. I think I want to throw up.
