Bags suck, I hate the fact that my car rides 110% better over stock and I have full adjustabilty over my suspension.

And those new fangled things...what are they called? oh yeah..GAUGES...they seem to come in handy so I know where my optimal ride height should be too.

Traditional? ..... Ya...my OCD isn't that bad yet.

okay, brad, please fab up an air ride for one of your cars. and after you have to do some real work and make things happen without buying a "kit" then let me know who the poser is. a car that lays frame or lays rocker panel has way more to do with fabrication and real knowledge than you know. GFY poser

  4. I think hotrodding is making your car stand out from the 2 billion other cars that normal folks don,t alter,If you drive into Tesco.s carpark and drop your ride in the dirt I.d say you,ve achieved that mission.I,m in the yay corner (Wot do I know?)I reckon it looks way cool.I was going to say Kool but folks get annoyed?

hate all you like, but IMO there is nothing cooler looking than a laid out custom ride. i have always loved them the lower the better, but the functionality just isn't there. enter... air ride. problem solved.

you mean to tell me these dont look badass?

What the hell is going on? Seems like once a week there's an anti bag post on here now. Bags are here to stay, get the fuck over it. If you want to complain do a damn search and find one of the other posts about it instead of cloggin shit up with another one of the same thing.

  8. To me, most cars do look better nice and low, but putting 'em on the ground is just a way for someone to prove that theirs can go even lower than yours for some kind of bragging rights. It's all about having fun though. Everybody's got their own thing going on. If all of the cars were worried about practicality and political correctness, it would be pretty dull going to a car show. I'm glad everyone's got their own take on what's cool and what's not. For anything you can do on a hotrod, there's always going to be someone who tries to outdo you somehow -- lower, higher, faster, louder, more beautiful, more uglier, bigger wheels, smaller wheels. There's always someone who goes a little too far, but that's cool -- it's all about individual freedom.

I like to date chicks from various weight categories and is why I chose to install them on my ride.

  12. Well, it was time for the annual revival of this post I guess.
    Are we over it yet?
How many of you that posted today read the whole thread?

  13. "you envision it going down the road--cruising with ZZ-Top funking "I'm baaaaad....I'm Na-a-ation wi-i-i-eyed..." or the violent energy of G&N's "Welcome to the Jungle" ..........

    What the hell!!!

For me dumping the air out to lay it on the rocker is just a plus. Driving the car super low without the stiff bumpy ride of lowered springs is why I do it. Not to mention the benefit of getting in and out of steep drive ways without killing my bumpers.......To bag or not to bag….hmmm…to each is own all I know is I DRIVE mine…

I'm not an air-ride kind of guy - I like the keep it simple approach. (One less thing to fail.) But --- I sure respect the ride + clearance + stance aspect.

    Brad,

:D Air Bags are great.........Had them on my '41 Ford and the car was a great cruiser. My '49 Cadillac is 18 feet long and couldn't make it over the up and quit down of my drive way, air bags made it possible to raise the Caddy and get in and out of my drive way. The ride with air bags can't be beat and I wouldn't have any other set up. As for laying them on the ground at a show, I say to each his own, take it or leave it. Bags have been the best thing that could have happen to customs.

    CRUISER

An air-ride is only as good as it's installed/built. And trust me, I've fixed A LOT of hack jobs! We have several on the road that are perfectly safe and reliable as daily drivers and some vehicles just seem to be missing something until they sit like this...

I like mine....it doesn't lay frame butstops at the shortened frame snubbers. Sometimes I'll cruise the parkin lots on the snubbers. Talk about a bouncy ride!!!! The ride quality with the air bags at ride height is hard to argue with!!!!

  24. I dunno, I kinda like that Jell-O mold look on some cars.

Being able to adjust the ride height and the look seems to be a great idea, and fun, too.

Yea I know this post is old, but I thought I would add something even though its all been said.

I've been doing bags since 1995 and still doing so to this day, its all about the quality of the install - PERIOD
(now I dont know if I'm supposed to put a period now or not......)

Before bags it was juice (hydros), and whatever way you could get them down, but one thing for sure-

Low is traditional. Including the very low. ROD&CUSTOM 1958 -

I can see both sides and truly believe that a guys car is up to that guy. Brad54's point holds sway with me, but Pooch and Fonzi's angle is totally understandable.
Each to thair own, for me it's gotta be old school.
