I agree with you but the tip of the tail light sticking out is the only give away. I am in no way criticizing his work. Absolutely beautiful! I love the way the top fades into the chrome. Amazing!
About '95, I got back into building drag models, which were the passion of my youth. Over the next ten years, I got heavily involved, and was putting on a Phoenix drag model event each year. I found a great new circle of friends who loved the same things, including a Denver builder named Tom Counce. Most of us were happy to show up each year with our latest pieces, and check out what everyone else had been doing. One year Tom had a proposition for us: build a group project, with each of us doing our favorite part. By the time it was over, there were 8 of us, from California, Colorado, Arizona, and Tennessee. Of course this was too many for just one model, so Tom proposed a dragster, push truck, diorama, and each of us would make a figure of ourself to be in the "scene". We all had a great time, and it came together at the event in Phoenix. At that point we decided to add a couple more guys and do an even bigger and better project. The next year we got off to a good start, but Tom Counce, who had lived with cancer for years, came down with it again, and passed away. None of us had the heart to finish "Joint Venture ll", a Fiat AA/Fuel Altered. This is the final result of the first build:
Kinda funny cause when he first built it it was only the dark blue and then he two toned it with the light blue and it just jumped at you or really came alive. Saw your model on one of the model boards too. Keep up the great work. Mike
