I have seen 2 videos (one with a 51 merc) where the hubcaps are not turning with the wheels. Does anyone know how this setup is done?

drill and tap the end of the spindle on the front then attach it in the center not touching wheel

    run skirts on the back!
or a bearing with a weight at the bottom of the hubcap

a friend of mine did this one time and told me about it

One of the guys I use to work with did this. It's wierd because it looks like the car is just sliding down the road.

Voodoo Larry's got them on his custom. I saw him drive his car at the Hunnert Car Pileup and it does freak you out the first time you see it. Kind of like when I saw Michael Jackson do the moon walk the first time.

'69 Road Runners and Super Bees had them as an option. Solid discs--the Plymouth had a the Road Runner on them, the Dodge had a white cowboy hat (Dodge Boys wear white hats). Spindle drilled in the center, disc had a small bracket that connected the two.
It does look odd riding down the road!

There's a guy (Chops from the Rumbler's) in Albuquerque that runs a set of Fiesta spinners on his lead sled. What he did is somehow attach the spinner only to the spindle. When he's rolling, everything spins and the spinner stays still. It looks bitchin!!

Drill and tap front spidle. drill rim out backside for valve stem from tubed tire. Ya pain in the ass to check air pressure but worth it.
I had a alum. bullets machined at local shop , drilled and tapped to take the threaded stock from the spindle, flat alum. polished plate machined & threaded in place of the Caddy center pc. used existing center clips and epoxed in. Ground off hub cap clips to get it closer to rim. Lots of work but nothing to do in winter anyway.
Glued fake valve stem in normal hub cap hole.
The grander the hub cap the better in my opinion, 3 bars or Lancer's would look great, noticed easier.

It does play with peoples minds
