    Rotella's got zinc in it. Do you have a flat tappet engine?

    Out of all the oil I can buy, I buy Rotella in the summer.

  7. I usually use Delo, or Mobil Delvac. rotella is usually too hard to find around here, and is more $$.

    I run 15-40 in everything I have driven for the last 17 years. I've never had an engine blow up yet!

    I didn't see you were getting it for free! Hell, go for Rotella. But either is good, just don't be stealing it!

    rotella T 15-40.... they carry it at the autozone by my house, maybe check yours!

  9. They have it, but only one or 2 gallons. Sometimes. If I change the oil in my tow truck, I need more than that..
    I dont go into town much, maybe once or twice a month. autozone is 15 miles each way.. Yes, I could swing by there on each trip and have enough, but that would involve planning and a routine!
    I like to buy it at Pomona swap meet, because I usually can pick up 6 gallons for 20-30 bucks. I buy all I can.

    I'm not so sure that Rotella still has zinc in it.

    Haven't you herd "Motor oil is motor oil"!:D

  13. Just make sure your engine is broke in first. The rings seated and all that jazz. My high school shop teacher rebuilt the 327 in a corvette his wife's family had for years. He ran DELO 30w in it from the very fisrt restart. and it burned oil till the day his wife sold it. The guys who bought it quit using Delo, lo and behold the rings fianlly seated and it quit going through oil. Too much film strength in deisle spec oil for the rings to seat. {our shop teacher was not the brightest bulb on the christmas tree. couldnt tell a holley from an edelbrock}
