It arrived today, my new 30 Model A coupe. I have wanted one since I sold my Oakland coupe. This thing is real solid! No patch panels needed. Someone screwed up the roof, but it can be fixed. I plan to keep the fenders and do a mild chop (maybe) I'm tall and don't want the same problem I had in the Oakland. I have a 4" drop axle for the front and will drop the rear to match. I have a 215 aluminum Buick V8 I plan to put in it W/ 2 deuces. Plan on keeping it real traditional and YES it will get paint, not nailed the color down yet. Here is some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Sigh. You know, if this keeps up, everyone on the HAMB will have a Model A but me.

Congratulations! For real though, I'm kinda tall myself and will be paying very close attention to how you overcome obstacles.

    You lucky mutha.

Any chop will be just before it gets painted and I will be comfortable or the top stays. Besides, too much chop on a full fendered A looks out of proportion to me.

How tall are you Toast? I'm taking notes ... nothin' wrong with an unchopped A either. Maybe just an inch or two in front?

I am 6'2" and shrinking the older I get. If I wait a few more years before I chop it I may be able to take out more!:D

That thing is in great shape. You are a lucky man Tom. Good for you. Did that Buick 215 V8 come out of that killer car that almost burned you alive in? Might be bad luck...............

  17. Damn nice lookin coupe for sure.... Clean n' damn straight. Great find for sure... Keep us posted on the progress. I just talked to the machinist today, and it will be 3 weeks before he can even touch my flathead.. Thats ok, gives me a little bit more time to collect some money and decide how far I wanna go with it. :) Good luck :)

That's a damn nice-looking A  . I wish it was in MY garage , lol ! If it were me (which I know it isn't , unfortunately ;) ) I'd leave it unchopped . As someone else said , a full-fendered A looks "right" the way it is .

If it gets chopped at all it will be 2" max. After I get al the reat of it done and see how much room there is, thats when the chop option will be looked at. Thanks!
