Looking for a site to purchase old sprint car torsion bars and what not. Anyone know of a place?

    Thanks,

This is probably the wrong time of year to find such things in the cl***ifieds of such web sites as Hoseheads.com or TJSlideways.com. At the end of the season everybody is dumping their stuff to raise cash for new equipment for the next year. In October, November those sites' ads are full of neat hardware. In the meantime try ebay under "sprint cars". Or. call Dave Mann down in Elkhart,IN 574-293-4187

  4. Try "wingmansgirl" on eBay. Usually a lot of vintage stuff, and VERY good to deal with.

  5. I type "vintage sprint" on the eBay search line.

Torsion bars come in two spline diameters...1" (real old stuff) and 1 1/8". Keep that in mind when purchasing. I prefer buying solid T-bars too....not the hollow ones. Steel arms and stops (as opposed to aluminum) might be better for street use as well.

    My $.02 worth.

Thanks alot guys, also...do the sprint cars tend to "sack" these torsion bars out, do I need to look out for that, or do they just pawn them off in exchange for cash for other parts?

You might try Van Craft in Indianapolis. They restore old Kurtis Kraft cars and have some parts for sale. Their phone number is 317-241-6601.
