Had the Jalopy Journal bookmarked in my favorites, never was much on message boards until I took a look here and found out a bunch of good stuff.

A friend told me a nice picture of my roadster was on the net in '98/'99 IIRC, but didn't know what site. I did a search and checked out the traditional sites - didn't find the pic, but found JJ and other neat sites. Because of traveling, I had to wait to join the fray because I didn't have internet service on the road.

I stumbled across the Jalopy Journal prolly 2-1/2 yrs ago & found the HAMB thru there. I think I was doing a 'net search for "hot rods" in general when I found it. Been lurking around ever since.

I was sitting in the Christian Science reading room in Hysham, Montana when I heard this voice talking behind me saying how cool the HAMB was and that I should get my mind right and Get With The Program. So I went to the Hysham Honey Bucket Cafe and ordered a HAMBurger. Well my life was changed, I got the drizzlin' shits and darn near passed out. When I came to my senses I went home and was on the computer looking for The Boom Boom Room but gave up cause the Feds had shut it down. Thought maybe some Ford chat room would help my sunny disposition and VIOLA! Some dude says checkout the HAMB. Then it all made sense! Thanks A/FX Comet for turning me on to my latest addiction.

Back around when Hot Rod Deluxe first came out. Before one had to register. The HRdelxe site had a link to jalopy journal. I posted a few times. Then when the register process started, the intro police started. Change of jobs no cpu. finally came around to post a couple a weeks ago.

Hatch and Fuelpump take the blame. They've got no taste in people they hang out with.

Somebody told me there was a picture of my old '41 Chevy taken at Sherman/Dennison(1999) on here. I came to check it out and lurked for a while. This kid (yeah,I said kid!!)came in my shop one day drivin' a flamed El Camino and wearing a HAMB shirt. We talked about it a little so I decided to check it out for real.

Used to hang out on an old Ford truck board. Someone mentioned the HAMB one day, I checked it out, discovered there were other people like me in the world. Only place I have ever been that makes me feel normal. [IMG] KIND SKEERIE AIN"T IT!!!!!! [IMG]

  21. Last year, El Jeffe talked me into going to this thing called the HAMB drags. I didn't have a clue what the hell it was, but was assured I meet lots of cool guys with a similar passion for traditional hotrods and customs. I get to Hotel in Joplin, and spent hours outside talking to people and taking pictures a bunch of cool rides...with a few of them still wearing B-ville salt. My kinda guys. Especially when they told me that it was ok to not wash my car for the drags....cool!!! These guys kept asking me who I was...and stupidly I kept saying "Reggie". Looking back on it, I must have seemed very, very stupid....to be at the Inaugural HAMB drags by accident and without a clue as to what this was about.

2 / 3 years ago.Springfield, Mo. swap meet, under a tent in the rain, talking to Choprods( Kenny Baker), Ben D, Mike Helton, Norm Grabowski, and others. Kenny told me how to find this place. Lurked a couple of years, then bftwcs talked me in to logging on. Live close to atch, bftwcs, assdrager, heltrods weeds and many others here in HABMland. Addicted! here most every night.

    Thanks, McCray

My good buddy John B from Ky came to Michigan for a visit in Jan 2001 and showed me the HAMB. I didn't care for it at first, it looked to me like everyone was mean and nasty to each other, especially to the "newbies".

I did lurk from time to time and eventually Germ convinced me the HAMB was where I belonged. I did a detailed intro, including photos of my cars, and was accepted right away. I've never been more addicted to anything in my life.
    The HAMB is home.
