I guess that's your wife filming? Doesn't sound like she had a lot of faith in you getting it running. Local guys car. Most beautiful dash I may have ever seen.
its got a lot of potential, they are a good car, strong frame, good independant front end, open driveline, room for a 500 caddy and turbo 400!
fuck that...the 346 in there is WAY cooler idle sounds a little high man, those are supposed to be set at 375 rpm according to the '46 motors manual
him: "stand back!" her: "it runs?!.....piece of junk (as he drives away), hee, hee" love it! it looks like it shouldn't run and stop, that's for sure, but it does. sounds pretty good to at that. I think I might propose a mild chop and drop on that baby, but otherwise sort of sleeper/shine runner look.
Very cool. Love seeing another LaSalle on the road. Just got mine a couple weeks ago. What is the history of yours? How long have you had it, etc. Brian
got it for $4000 back in September 2007. I rebuilt the carb (had old gas (aka varnish)) in it. Re-sealed the gas tank, overhauled entire brake system, hooked up two optima 6V batteries in parallel for increased cold cranking amps and leaving it at 6V system. Machined temporary stainless steel water outlets due to the original ones rotted out. For now, I cruise her like that until I do a full frame off restoration. I will lower her, no chop. I attached an image of how I want her to look, all "Bombed" out with skirts and exterior visor.
i was just at my friends shop and checking out his 40 lasalle convertible he wants me to help him get it running. talk about a cool car. he has about 5 40s cads.areoman let me know if you want to check it out. billy
Oh cool, I didnt know that. I am just learning the way of the '39 LaSalle, hahha. Next step is to get her a title and some tags. My '47 Fleetline is waiting for me...she's torn down.
