Just what I need, something else to make me feel OLD:mad:. At least I can clearly remember when I first saw it. A friend of mine told me about it and said "you've GOT to see this movie. It's exactly like it was when we graduated (we both graduated in 1962)." Sure enough, when we left the theater my wife looked at me and said "wow, whoever wrote that must have been there". I agreed.

It is also the anniversary of the invention of the laser and the Damnbusters.

The question now is, do I watch American Graffiti or Damnbusters tonight? :D

June 1973, my best friend and I attend the showing of American Graffiti, sitting in the very last row on the isle. The place is packed. It is still the era of the local one screen downtown theatre, right on main street. As soon as the flick is over, we charge out of the place, across the street to the parking lot. Hop into his heavily choped, 392 dual quad hemi powered flat black duece coupe and prepare to leave. Out the far end and onto the street, cruisin right past the front of the theater. Perfectly timed as most of the movie goers are now in front waiting to also cross the street, we blast by, hemi screamin in 1st gear, arms barely able to squeaze out the windows, and proceed to blow everybodies minds cause its graffiti live man. Lots of yelling and clapping as we went by. I think it was as good for them as us. Naw, way better for us, 'cause we were sideways and they could only wish they were. Loved that movie, but love more the times I have had then and now.
