  4. Sounds like you need a dog to tie up in your car port. None of your neighbors saw anything?

Yeah, my one neighbor heard "alot of banging and hammering late Sunday nite" and even came out and checked out the car in the morning, saw the front end sitting on the frame horns and figured I just took the parts off myself.

AND, my landlady coincidentally told me Sunday afternoon that her son or son's buddy really liked the car and was interested in buying it. Think I've knocked on her door till my knuckle turned blue last nite? You betcha...

I'll get a hold of her directly.

I sure do appreciate everyone doing what they can, though. It's a small world when it comes to this stuff and with y'all on the lookout, I hope to hear something soon...

Thanks for the support, Brick. I've been toying with the idea of bringing the 415 81s in on this thing, but it may not be what I want to cash my chips in on quite yet. Know what I mean?

  8. Sorry your parts were ripped.
I know its little consolation, but some guy that was seen stealing parts from my car yard last week got stuck in the sand in the lot next door today. Easy pickins, dude got arrested ..
    Hope your guys get theirs...

    Dan,
This sucks big time! I'll keep a look out here in the south bay, there are a couple of swaps coming up. You might want to post on craigslist too.
Can you send me a full res of the flyer?
Hope you get your parts back.

    Sean and Baron--

Thanks for the support and check your emails.

I've been nailing these flyers to anything that can take a staple or tape and if any of you Bay area folks wouldn't mind passing one around, I'd be happy to shoot you an email with an attached file that you can print out.

The favor will be returned when you least expect it...

Chalk me up as another local HAMBer on the lookout. Fortunately The radius rods are very distinctive--if the thieves try to move those or build with them it'll definitely raise an eyebrow or two...

  19. no luck at the santa rosa swap yesterday... had the peeps out lookin'.
    nic

  20. the thing about thieves is that they seldom steal for themselves, so if their customer base went away they'd have to find another way to make a living. so if the deal seems way toooooooooo good think twice before going thru with it.

    good luck finding your stuff

  21. Dude!! I'm telling you there is a ring of thieves in the Bay Area targeting Parts!!! I was hit twice!!!in Newark,Ca...I lost about $30K worth of parts and other belongings!! Fuckin Punks!!! Sorry to hear that man..I know how you feel....Now havethat happen twice and then have people talk shit and make jokes..and let me know how you feel... [IMG] At least people are offering you help on here..Not a single person gave a squirt of piss when I posted my robberies on here!! Whatever though... hope you get your shit back..but dont count on it...

Whoever took this stuff is either a hot rodder, who knew what he was looking for. Its not like this was a simple wheel or stereo theft.

This stuff is rare, and would look like 'junk' to the average thief.

Its time to start thinking hard on this. Its probably someone who you know, or one of their friends...

This is way too obscure to be random...

See, that's the part that pisses me off--noone but another hotrodder would want this stuff. My neighbors keep saying that it's "those damn kids" that live in the neighborhood. Well, not for nuthin', but I'd believe that if I had a slammed Civic running 20"s.

You're right--this is very specific stuff and I feel like they'd only take it if they were using it themselves or wanting to sell it because they knew what the shit was.

To think that another hotrodder would do this is just fucked up. Plus the fact that noone gave a shit when dude had $30K of his stuff yanked.

Plus, not many people knew where this car was. You'd have to walk back that specific alley and see more than what looks like a pile of junk to the average shithead. It REALLY pisses me off to think that it was someone I might know...

And if I haven't said it already, THANKS to all who gave a shit to pass around a flyer and/or drop a line to me. Y'all know how long it takes and what you've sacrificed in time and money to build what we build. This hurts a little more than just having your VCR stolen. Know what I mean?

I do know what you mean. Stolen is stolen but I think it's twice as bad that someone had to actually disassemble parts to steal what they did. Not like a VCR or bike.

I found a thief's crumpled cigarette pack behind a stack of tires in my basement about a month after my favorite bike was stolen. I was pissed all over again knowing the douchebag probably had a smoke as he rode off on an irrepplaceable machine. I still look at every skinny tired bike I see on the street hoping to get my old cyclocross bike back.

Sorry, I know that probably didn't make you feel better. Do you have parts to get it rolling again? I probably have a set of wishbones (A) you can have, or at least use if you don't want to run the short things.

x-10.com has some pretty awesome deals on wireless motion detectors and video cameras. I got ripped off for more than $1000 of stuff so $500 worth of security doesnt seem too expensive.... now.... and yeah I am POSITIVE they will be back. This time I will hear the alarm, but they wont. I dont want any loud alarms or lights coming on to scare them off. I WILL catch them!

Manyoldcars, I agree with you 100%. I tell everyone in my neighborhood that "I am the SHERRIF at my house". I think they think I'm nut's. They come out and write a report and go back to thier office, but I'M ALWAYS on duty! Silence and surprise always works. (Along with a 357 Mag) Put a lawn chair out there,go out and sit in it at odd times. You might get lucky.

  28. Stoner, stick a few of those fliers in the mail to me out in Concord, I'll look for the stuff at the upcoming swap at Marina airport. Oct. 2nd. there was some good stuff there a few months ago when I went. I need detail close up pics and I'll go looking for you plus I'll post a couple out here in the east bay for you. You might also go post one on the bulletin board at Brizio's speed shop in south city.

its a bit late for this... but its probably a good idea to put a mark on all your stuff... kinda like scribing your name on a tool. im paranoid, so all my STUFF has marks on it... this wont work for everything, but its still a way to identify your things.
