it seems to me like everyone is going including myself, west coast kustoms has done a great thing and i will continue to support them.... there are no more rooms left in santa maria so it must be a good thing...

I really want to be there . . .We have been living and breathing my '60 Ford p/u trying to get it there for the last 3 mos (when we bought it). Have a y block that needs overhauled that I'd rather have put in it now but instead of that we opted to work on the y later just to try to get this thing to Santa Maria . . .keeping it strictly hood down for now, LOL! The '60 will be my daily driver once it is up and good to go, rather take that with an engine I don't like than the modern car we keep only for emergencies (like I really have to chop this top NOW emergencies), no?

 

i'm super fuckin stoked on this one! gotta good feeling about this one my friends! lets get out there and win one for the gipper gambino!... do i have room for the ez up if i only registered for one space?

Burny, I laughed out loud when I saw your reply, that's exactly what I said to myself about 10 seconds before I scrolled down to see your reply. I wait all year for this show and I'm counting the hours till Thursday..my girlfriend is flying in from Austria just to see the show too. Alex, any idea whether there will be a friday nite cruise? Does Santa Maria have their own version of the A&W? You're right though, it's up to the participants to make the show even better than Paso.

 

i dont think theres an organized cruze , but that wont stop folks from driving up and down the blvd.and im sure will find a equivalent to
a& w

 

There's JR's drive in on Main Street, just east of the mall on the north side of the street. They are hot rod friendly and have a gathering there every 2nd Fri. Tonight I drove through Paso and it was 92 degrees at 7pm, it was 65 degrees in Santa Maria an hour later.

 

I actually drove the 'chief to and from Santa Maria today and the car ran flawlessly, even though I drove it more miles today than it has been driven in the last 10 years combined. I considered today a test run on next week, so yea... I will be there!! (crosses fingers!)

I suggested in another thread for the Jack in the Box to replace the A&W. It's right across the street from the host hotel (S.M. Inn). The other drive-in suggested is so far from the hub of things, I don't think it'd work. At least at the Jack's, you'll see cars cruising Broadway to and from their motels as well as whatever traffic goes in and out of the Inn across the street

 

I'll be going,We leave Wednesday and this will be 10 years in a row.

just checked the forecast they say maybe some rain showers sat and sunday, it will be a nice change, its been triple digits for oc the last 3 days!

i must be on the wrong yahoo because the weather calls for 68 on friday and 66 on sat and it says nothing about rain,even says plan a scenic drive.(yahoo extended forecast)

 

i just checked it again, im sorry i ever said anything. i just stated what it said at 800am this morning. you can bet your ass i wont check it again.

 

were thrashin away over here at the shop weve got 6 cars that need road worthy love !!!aint hot rods and kustom cars fun
