Does any know how far a drop a super slider reversed eye spring will lower the front of a 40 ford and also the rear if you use one in the back.Dose the front still have suspension travel when you use one?
Thanks, but i would like to know from some one who actually has one in use if possible.I messed with the orginal one and now I dont have much travel and ride mostly on the bump stops.Thinking of trimming the bump stops
I put one in my 48 coupe . seemed to sit high . Itook three leafs out of the stock spring before, like you did . kept bottoming out so i got the Posie W/the revered eye.the ride is really good but too high so iam changing the crossmember.should get the fenders backover thetires. i messed up didn't measure it before putting it in. Did measure this time before the crossmember.
I didnt measure mine ether,I just want it to sit with the fender opening at the top of the tire.I didnt want to get to involved,so I could put it back to stock easily.
Mine measured 28" from the floor to the top of the wheel well running 15" tires all around. the nose is off and measured 14" floor to radiator crossmember. the new spring crossmember is suppose to be good for 3"s had some trouble changing the oil pan stirpped bolt in the timing cover ,should be back together by Sunday.
I have a 38 ford with a super slide and the narrrow 4in. super bell dropped axle and I think it sits really nice. The tires sit right under the crown of the fenders. Its not too low like it was when I had a stock spring with leaves taken out and the main leaf eyes reversed. Still have to watch pulling into drive ways and parking lots. If I remember right the super slide spring by it self will drop a car with a stock axle 2-1/2in..
I used one in the rear of the '38, it only dropped it about an Inch, maybe a little bit more. I took it out and I'm welding up my parallel leafs right now.
