Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by minchione, May 16, 2008.

  1. Hey guys need a little help with finding some other complementary colors to the body color of my 23 roadster. This is the body color

My frame is gloss black and the interior is white tuck and roll. The windshield I bought Needed alot of work so re-chroming is out of the question. What color would you paint the windshield and lanterns? Was thinking same as body color but I think it would look like crap, any help would be great thanks. Oh yeah it will also have white pin stripping. Here's what my build is like so far,

Please dont say anything about the fiberglass body, I've been torn a new one and I have a metal body on the way.

    Thanks in advance

Agree with purple and add orange to the mix. My Harley is purple with gold and orange stripes. Red would also work. Since the frames gloss black and visible, I'd probably go with the orange or red for contrast with the frame.

If you ever took an art class, they would teach you that purple is the "natural color compliment" for yellow.

I have found that you can take some liberties, and it use a blue-purple(violet).....purple.....or red-purple(rose), with good results.

Colors like black, white, gray, and silver, are called "neutrals". They go with anything, since they don't have a strong "personality". They are of no consequence as far as other colors.

You did say complimentary,Right? Some Rootbeer Candy over your Gold would look good, or just some medium Brown Firemist. If you want lighter,
maybe orange, but darker works for Me.

  7. Straight up purple would be really cool and funky--maximum contrast, but Cobalt blue (blue to the purple side) would add a little sophistication and you might not get tired of it so quick......
