I attended my first Jalopy showdown and I had a great time! The cars were great, and the people were friendly. I took some pictures. I`m still working on them so if you like check back. They are on my flickr photostream. If any of you want to download the photos, feel free to use them! http://www.flickr.com/photos/millerracers2000/sets/72157605108142098/ Enjoy! Buildy(Tony D.)
I arrived at the showdown the night before. It was wet, muddy as hell and yet all the people were having a great time. I slept in the infield in my car. The showdown started as early as 6 am as cars began to crawl in. Each year this gets better and better. Thanks for showing the pics! What a great day.
Hot Rod Jenn... She takes some good photos, and does pinstriping. This was my first Showdown, original style, ( we made the drags last year...) and it was killer... I actually had no idea what to expect, and thought it was going to rain all freakin' weekend, so I left my coupe at home...figured there wouldn't be a whole lot happening...I was wrong! awesome time...next year, car comes...wipers/glass or not... Thanks to everyone! see ya' at the drags...
"Hot Rod Jenn... She takes some good photos, and does pinstriping." I even saw her helping push stuck cars out of the mud in turn 3 and 4. Boy,If I were younger and single-----LOL
On a more serious note-I`ll be looking forward to seeing photos from some of the other photographers at the Jalopy Showdown. There was so much to see and so much going on no one could possibly catch all of it!
Thanks for sharing, jalopy showdown pics are my favorite. I wish we had a show like that I would love to get my car all muddy.
Yeah I was in those turns as well, I would have jumped the fence n helped, but I was pretty much in awe of ballsyness of Jenn I figures 'nah.. she's got it' haha. I dont think I was alone, lot of the guys made positive remarks. One I liked was " a whole fenceline of guys here, and shes the one out there pushin? haha good shit! then a few guys jumped in and were helpin out. I helped a few in the infeild 'get around'... fun stuff! To those who stood by and didnt want to get there levis dirty, or mess up there pompa dwarfs... try a little harder next year to help out a fellow rodder mmk? To Larry and crew: all in all great show again, better n better! Thanks!
I hope everyone got a chance to check out the details on this sweet ride. It's one of those cars that just forces you to look at every last bolt and nut to see how he did it stylishly and differently from rest of the crowd.
I spent many minutes looking this car over. While I was looking it over,I noticed the passenger dropped a wad of cash out of his pocket onto the floor of the cockpit! I of hung around and hoped the guy would come back before anything "happened" to it. After a few minutes he came back after realizing he was short his cash,so all was well. As you say that car really has a great look and lots of details to study!
This car! THIS CAR!!! God this thing was interesting...every aspect was there...it had my attention for a long time, every detail is second to none. and, I HATE these, most of the time. maybe I wouldn't if they all had this kind of attention... Anyone get pics of that injected coupe on the '32 chassis? the brown one w/ torque thrusts? I loved that one too... lots of good stuff...
Tommy and DirtyThirty, that roadster belongs to a buddy of mine and i'm still impressed everytime i see it. His attention to detail and style is amazing. And Dirty, I'm assuming you mean this coupe. Those photos aren't from the showdown (clearly), but he's also a local fellow and that car has amazing details too, and injection to boot. All in all it was another kick ass showdown with some nice rides.
