Currently up to my neck in a restoration of '61 Pontiac Bonneville bubbletop. The build is pretty boring for what this forum is all about, but the lines on the car are very ****ery. Put me straight to my knees first time I seen one. I thought I would start dabbling here, because I envision my next build to be a bit more HAMB style. I'll be poking around, hopefully can help where I can, and will prob require some help next year after my Pontiac is complete. Cheers.
By all means do so! And that car is lookin damn nice. I like the phrase '****ery', hadn't heard that used on a car yet...lol But I know where you're comin from. Welcome! Jef
Welcome from Wisconsin! Love the big pontiacs. I got a 64 bonneville with a 455. Good luck on your build. Looks like its gonna be sweet.
Lucky *******... !! I've had the hots for those since I saw my first new one back in '61. A friend's family in West St.Paul had one and he let me drive it once (no license? no problem!). About the same color as yours with the cool tri-color interior.
Thanks for the welcome... again! My intro was from a few years ago - Teunis: thanks for kicking it off again, and happy I can help you out. I'll go ahead and update my build here. 5 years ago, this month, I hauled this home and my wife sort of crossed her arms and tapped her toe a bit.... I've only been able to work as fast as my checkbook can buy parts, supplies, and tools. My time is so dang tight with a lot of work and family stuff.... over the last 5 years, I have knocked pretty much every knuckle tip off, learned A LOT (thanks to members here for that), polished until my fingers were numb, and go to sleep every night thinking about what's next and how to find time to do it. Bench seat manual trans. 5 speed TKO600, 3.64 posi BOP rear end, 455 >.030 with cast long branch exhaust = 550 ft/lb torque at 4400. Cam is not that gnarly - aluminum heads did the trick. Still need to drop the nose a bit, and would like to find a solution to putting 8 lugs over disc brakes. I've put about 50 miles on the odometer, just now ironing out wrinkles and tuning (just in time for Winter). Spring will start to burn a lot more gas. Hope put a lot of interstate miles on it.
