so i saved this truck today. my ol lady called me said her aunt lost her house and there is a 52 chev 5 window in the back yard and if i dont pick it up by today its getting crushed, i can have it for $50. i run over there and drag it out and take it home. turns out its missing the bed but the car and running boards are perfect, no dents and no rot, just surface from sitting who knows how many years, last registration paperwork shows 1974.

she had an extra hood but its for a gmc truck so i wont be able to use it unless i only use the corners which i dont think i'll do because the gmc hood is cherry also, no dents no rust. perfect hood, she missplaced the drive shaft so i'll figure that out when i think of what engine i want to run. she has a 6 banger in the garage that i'll be getting tomorrow looks to be the 235 that belongs to the truck, the top cover is off and the oil pan seems to be loose, who knows what they did to it. i'll have pics of it tomorrow.

    here are some pics...

what kid of seat is this?

just the cab looks huge, maybe because it doesnt have a bed and because its a high as the sky. the door plate says gross vehicle weight 4800lbs, is that a 1/2 or 3/4 ton?

where would you guys begin the build? im thinking starting from the bottom up, starting with suspension and worring about the motor/trans combo later.

any tips would help, first full build and first truck.

    later...

...it's a 52 or 53 1/2 ton, (push-****on door handles & vent windows in doors)seat's out of some other truck,...orig. seat was an upper and lower cushions not hooked to each other like yours. Looks like a real solid truck.
