Special thanks to Larry for letting us camp. Great show, can't wait for the drags! That's Mrs. Hoof in front of the Econoline, she won one of the first door prizes, and took the H+H flatheads jacket that everybody wanted! CHAZ
To each his own and I really hate to pick on someone's build, but I've honestly never seen a 34 3 window (the light blue one) "done more wrong". OH, THE HUMANITY! Cowl lights on a hammered hiboy-it'll p***, but what the hell is going on with that 8 color interior? Firewall stickers? I'm guessing early Seagraves Fire Truck spotlights for giant cartoon headlights? Pimp trucker grille cover. Dirt track windshield screen. What "build style is this? It's like a rolling parts book. It reminds me of a model car kit slapped together by a 7 year old kid in the mid 60's that used all the accessory parts in the kit "because they were there". Someone drive it into a giant body bag. "Make it go away"!
I have a few muddy track shots on here if you didn`t see them... http://www.flickr.com/photos/millerracers2000/sets/72157605108142098/
Sgtlethargic, the owner claims to not know what it is. It's been around central PA. for several years, been in several magazines. It has a flathead.
The "Mystery Car" is more than likely a Popular Mechanics kit car from the early or mid 50's. I did a story on that car for the very first issue of Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated. The frame is '34 Ford, the engine is an early flathead, the newest part on the car is the '53 Buick windshield and side trim. Definitely Harley Earl inspired. So far no one has been able to come up with who built the car, but the workmanship is to notch. Spike
Email me if you want a full size copy of any of these images. They are from an 8megapixel SLR, so they are huge images. If you want the original just let me know. doebyc@ptd.net CHAZ
Did you get any phots of the roadster with 203 on the side? I took detail shots of the Schofield equipped 4 banger then forgot to take a shot of the whole car.... BTW that chopped Merc in your first set is really cool!
