Hell, falcons and rancheros crush like tin cans!! my first ranchero got wiped out by a peice of **** early 80's Honda hatchback, crushed the front end and twisted the body so bad the doors wouldn't close. a few years later i was driving my futura and some lady pulled out of a driveway directly into my lane with out looking in a late 80's toyota pickup, pushed the front end right into the firewall like an accordian  Glad you found the jerk who did the damage, fill us in on the outcome dude!

  3. Good detective work. My folks have a case going for a s***bag burglar.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Im just amazed the FOUND the car. Amazing detective work and luck. That **** never happens. We had a hit and run years ago (my parents) and found the guy, he lived around the corner! After like 3 court appearances, nothing really happened. What a freakin mess...NJ ****s for penalizing the guilty.

finished my first year of college last week, i recieved a check from the lady's insurance...decided a friend and I were going to do the work so I could keep most of the money for my real car..(50 ford) and finish this car ourselves, since im free from school now, Friday we began working by pulling old sheetmetal and then removing old sheetmetal, saturday we prepped the car and new quarter from installation and got it to fit really nice, im really surprised how it kind of just fell into place, right now i've got it just screwed on, i still want to clean up and paint inside before the quarter before I start welding along with hammer and dollying several dings in the quarter... even though we got the buckeled dent out of the old quarter from pulling it back, we felt it was better to use most of the new(used) but solid quarter as possible...here is a few pictures, quarter should be in prime but next weekend...its going pretty quickly, have about 8 hours total so far, but the hard part is done....

    excellent!

are you checking that it's square as you go along?

my pride and joy got hit earlier this year after a fool in a Camry hit me while in traffic. Smashed the whole back in on my car, unlicensed, no idea about the damage he'd done etc.
Lots of stuffing around with insurance etc, basically I lost a lot of money, my car and a piece of history.
As usual, the innocent get shafted and he has probably hit someone else by now.

Nah, I'm a much bigger fan of disemboweling, draw-and-quartering, and the ever-popular fiery red-hot poker!

Seriously, though, hit-n-run victims seldom get the justice they deserve from the legal system. The bad guy walks, or maybe does 30 days, and he's back out on the streets. Bad deal all around. It's great to see that the guilty party's insurance paid you, and that the perp was caught.

Just realized the original post was 2+ years old! Still good news, in any case!
