Got the 32 sedan rolling and am needing to exercise the benefits of having room for a rear seat. With Mokan coming up closer and closer I need to get this baby ready for the family to make the trip. I need some pics and ideas on some rear seats. thansk for the help Rusty
I dont know the width of a 32 sedan, but my 28 Tudor will be probably getting a first row Dodge Mini Van seat..it is about 46" to 48" wide..looks like it will fit. Or I will make it fit!
Rusty, why not custom make one to fit your desires????simple to do...plywood, foam.and cover it with a pattern of your choice....Sunbelt Fabric has foam of all different thickness...cut it to fit your base with an ordinary kitchen elec carving knife...then cover with your design of pleats or whatever...e-mail me if interested...
Yes, I will probably just make some but would love to see some pics of different set ups. Got mustang buckets in front ( not the best choice) but it is a start. Pics please Rusty
Are all the supports and knobs still there? How about a 1932 Ford Tudor rear seat? You can probably buy the springs and wood supports for a couple hundred, and it will require NO screwing with. And you know it will fit perfect.
Rusty, how about the stock rear? I can help you out with a good one. Lets see now what was that i was needing. mike ------------------------------------------------ Opossum Benders Missouri
I am in the process of getting the far rear supports. The front bottom one is there. Visor. What am I gonna do without a p***enger side door latch?
I was wrong, the repro springs and wood costs about $300 from Mac's. But you know it will have the right shape.
I just picked up a 96 Dodge Caravan rear seat for my Model A Tudor. Found it on craigslist for free. Perfect width and depth. I just got done making the mounts for it but don't have it in the car yet.
For my '35 sedan I went out and tape-measured a bunch of seats until I found a 1996 Geo prizm (Toyota Corolla) seat was just the right size for the rear. I had to weld the backrest together to make it one piece but it fit and folds forward for access.
Someone here built a seat out of plywood, with holes cut under the cushions. They put elastic webbing in the holes. Foam over that.
