Anyway, 57Drag dude... I just gotta ask, Are you into Traditional Hot Rods and Customs?? At all?

Maybe you want to build one some day???

Or like to look at them???

'Cause that's what we do on the HAMB...

That and we bust the balls of the FNG's... and today, that's you. [IMG]

Well seems like the good the bad and the ugly.I'll start with I hate 6 cylinder cars with a passieon!!!Not much on model A's either

    [/ QUOTE ]

WTF, you'd rather have a 4-banger. I guess you don't like my truck then, cause it's keeping it's 6. Damn.... and no model A's? What even possesed you to come over here. I just don't get it. Maybe if you put a Porsche 2.5 in your drag bug and saw how much faster it was you could appreciate the glory that is the 6 cylinder. I'm just wondering what is bringing these guys in here. It's easy to see Traditional Rods and Customs is the focus. Every now and then you get off topic a little but you have to be grounded in the aformentioned Traditional Rods and Customs. One more time for the peanut gallery. TRADITIONAL RODS AND CUSTOMS!

    dude,

you and your bug buddies don't seem to get it.

this is not an all modified vehicles are welcome board.

    this site is specific.

you are like the Jehova Witness that insists on setting up camp in a Budist monestary,

or the Mc Donalds that camps just inside the door at The Brown Derby to greet all the customers.

YOU ARE NOT WHAT WE COME HERE FOR!!!!!!!

now shut the FUCK up or GO AWAY!!!

Hey dipshit, you really don't get it do you. You come in here talking all kind of smack. You need to take your shit somewhere else. And in case you need remedial comprehension lessons. Customs weren't necessarily modified to be fast. Yes hot rods were. Just so you know I was the guy that took your lunch money then beat the f#ck out of you. You obviously have no respect for what we have here and think your VW is better than our old rides is a bunch of BS. And I don't give a flying f#ck about fitting in. Where it looks like you're trying just a tad to hard. Trying to compensate for something?

I do not care what you like or what you build. You shouldn't care about what I like and what I build. If you can't add anything to this board, which is for traditional hot rods & customs, traditional hot rods & customs then please continue to lurk.
I can appreciate the statement that you come here to learn. I do the same. A lot of people do. But please don't innundate us with vehicles that do not fit the forum and expect to be accepted.

I hate to shun any good talent that may be useful for us all as a group. But I sure as hell don't care to see a string of technical posts of how to make adaptations to four wheelers and VW's either.
It's funny how we can except the Anglia as traditional but far be it for us to accept a VW. I think it all goes back to how we use to make fun of those things as kids.
Welcome to the Hamb.... but please buy a real hotrod and sell a fourwheeler. [IMG]

    [/ QUOTE ] <font color="green"> I wa thinking along these lines also.

I think it has to so with the fact that the VW's are like the paint huffers downtown.

You can't sling a dead cat and not skip off of one and hit another.

Might also haveto do with the rear engine?

    Just ideas, don't beat me.

The only VW's I have ever liked are the GHIAS.

    Sue me.

This will usually kill any VW post though...

  16. #1- Don't be hatin on the six... some of us actually like them.

#2- I drive a new beetle as a daily (BLASPHEMY!). It's a great car that hasn't given me a day of trouble. That being said, the beetle is JUST A CAR and my 51 Chevy is a love affair.

#3- If you are hear to learn, observe, and eventually join our super-special cult of traditional enthusiasts, welcome. Everyone starts somewhere. Whatever you do...don't drink the kool-aid.

If you're here to talk about traditional rods and customs then, welcome aboard!
If you're here to discuss V dubs and 4x4's then please leave.

Anyway, I've cut my teeth on a 74 bus, and my gums will never stop bleeding. My next "project" was a Shoebox, and I never looked back.

Sorry to see what you did to an oval window bug though.

I've got a good VW story for you. Around 1976 my dad bought a brand new pop top VW bus camper. It was a real doll, had a stove and a fridge and all that good shit. Anyways there was a retarded girl that lived in the neighborhood and she and a bunch of other kids wanted to take a gander inside the thing.
Anyhoo the poor retarded girl decided that she needed to go pee right then and there. And sho 'nuff she let loose and whizzed all over the brand new linoleum floor. Mon and dad weren't very pleased, they were even less so when I started dating the girl a few years later.

And with that funny story I invite you, 57drag, to go fuck yerself.

I personally like alot of different types of cars,an appreciate the work and skill that goes into them. I've personally built muscle cars, choppers (all kinds),but my true passion is traditional Rods + Customs. Its what I think of,build and drive.Thats what this board and being a hamber is all about. Welcome, but lose the attitude or try a different board. Sixes are cool!

Okay guys here is a little info for you about NE Fla. &amp; this guy

    1) He grew up in Jax, the family has been here for many a years. 4x4's is all there is here so that's all he was exposed to.
    2) There isn't much, if any hot-rod related let alone "Traditional" car anything around here. This is the 1st time he has been exposed to Traditional
    3) He has skills, stuffing a V-8 anything into a Willys is hard - I know I've had 4 of them
    4) He came on here being friendly - just at the wrong time with the VW stuff.

It's sad to see everyone bag on the guy, it reminds me of a decal in Will's Honky Tonk in Sarasota (biker bar)

"IF YOU'RE NOT LIKE ME I HATE YOU" a big message there - think about it.

Anyway - welcome to the HAMB - take the hazing and come on back look listen and learn

No Dixie, that not true, You know as well as us we can't have other types of vehicles infiltrate this board. We need to stick to the traditional hotrods.

Yes we all have to cut our teeth on something and very few of us are lucky enough to have a Dad with a garage full of Salt racers or old fords in the back forty.
We have always welcome new young talent, I think that most of us just want to be sure that these guys understand what the Hamb is about.

My Dad is on a Harley race team SNART racing site and they run the measured mile. They went to Bonneville this year and made some new freinds and ran the bikes. He want's to build a TractT so he always hakes pics of some cool saltracers when they go.He is in Maxton NC this weekend running their bikes.Their is a big rod scene here but mostly cookiecutter billit rods and that don't intrest me.As for the 455 in the Willys it was Tight and had to do a custom stering shaft and convert it from bellcrank to saginaw. And Just up US1 their is a friend that has a cool boneyard and collects some cool shit of all varieties........Donald
