I know its ultimately my decision and what I think looks good, but I'm also kind of torn between the two and thought it would be interesting to see which of these two grills you guys like better on the F100 trucks?

I'm just talking about the physical shape of the grill, and not about the rest of the truck as you see in the pictures. These were some of the only pics I could find online that showed the grills.

Please remember to not take the rest of the truck into consideration. I'm talking about the physical form of the grill purely.

Personally, I like the '64 too.

    Thanks --Matt

I think the 61-62 style is much cleaner and since there is no easy way to lose the parking lights on either, it wins!

Agreed, the '64 looks like some one glued a bunch of tail light bezels in the grill opening.

If you were going for a subdued look, the 62 would do it.
If you were going for a custom look and running shiny paint, I'd go with the 64. But, like the others have said, the 64 parking lights are . . .

My vote is for the 62 grill. Then again I am partial as I have a 62.

I have the original bent and dented aluminum '64 grill on my truck and just picked up a straight steel '62 grill about a week ago. The reason why I began this thread was really to find out which grill I should put my effort into (either bending and re-straightening or painting) and put on my truck.

Question is: Is it easier to bend back the aluminum '64 grill or to clean up and paint the straight '62 grill?

Based on the poll, it seems like more people like the '64 grill better. I'm not talking about a show vehicle here, just a nice daily driver, so the grill wouldn't have to be perfectly reformed.

Aluminum is more pliable material than steel; how difficult would it be to re-bend it?

I agree. Sorta like a 60s Chevy in style, but flatter and less attractive. The '64 Grille looks like it belongs on a Ford. Not that that is necessarily better. Personally, I don't like either one very much (then again I don't much care for the one on my '68, either).
I vote for a '63 GMC grille, quad headlights and all. :D
C'mon, now, this is the HAMB - where's all of the cool custom ideas?

still keeping it simple, a 60's style tube grill can really do allot to clean up the front end while adding a kustom touch.

do we only get just two choices?

    64. your grill looks bent to hell. I'd find a straight 64 grill. I have a couple of 64 grills sitting in my garage.
You can also buy new chrome 66 repop grills. never like the 66 much myself 64 and 65 are my favorite. I've got a pretty nice 65 grill on my truck. I'm going to polish it up this week. Make it shine.

I like the GMC grille with the floating blue oval the best. The Buick teeth are nifty, but finding 13 teeth the same length and in good condition would be a bitch. I can't even find the 1 I'm missing on my Buick for a reasonable price.

Some of those look pretty nice, but some of them have WAY too much open space...

Clean up the 62 grille and use it.
Would be a lot easier and looks a lot cleaner IMO anyway.
64 grille looks like a bunch of floating bricks and the parking lights look out of place.
