Hello to everyone from Ontario, Canada. Recently joined the HAMB and have to say what a great site this is. Ive been reading the site for about 6 months now and am blown away on the amount of detail, dedication people have towards this hobby. I picked up my first car this past fall, been busy working on it over the winter, and managed to get it safetied and licensed last week. Ive followed many members recommendations for your first car, and got something in drivable condition not needing a lot of work to have fun with. Its a 1951 Pontiac 2 Dr Sedan with a 239 inline 6 and 3 spd manual transmission. My daughters affectionately call it The Turd. Body is extremely solid (only found on hole) and mechanically in pretty good shape (leaked every fluid possible including battery) My plans for now are to get it cleaned up and have some fun on the weekends. Down to road Id like to swap the driveline for something a bit more fun, maybe lower it a bit, and definitely give it a better color suit. I been reading about how supportive the significant others can be to the hobby. I managed to have a great one !! Not only did she encourage me to build a separate garage (16x24) for my hobby, she also had no issues pushing the car 2 blocks home when we ran out of gas on our first maiden voyage (guess I better get that gas gauge fixed !!). Thanks in advance for all the support the site offers TurdMagnet
Greetings and welcome from another Ontario guy ...... enjoy that great looking ride, even at $1.30 a litre for gas !!!!!
