all i have to say is you guys need to understand there are peoples rights, even criminals have rights and if you (Mac762) have had stuff stolen, well then you need to understand how to keep your stuff secured along with writing down the serial #s and or marking your property with ID #s with a punch if possible. The main problem we have with stolen property is when we find stuff we dont have any way of IDing the owner other than "Its Mine, No its mine"

Im sorry some of you have been wronged by the police. But if you have, Thats why we have police chiefs, Call one and tell them how you feel. If you don't nothing will change. But do remember most cities work off complaints. I love hot rodding and I wont write you for having a bad ass car even though its illegal, Ill just stop ya if ya make me and tell you whats up and if i was a traffic cop you'd be getting the paper version of this talk.
If I dont stop you some citizen will call and say, "I saw this car being stupid and a cop was right there and DIDN'T do anything about it." Ill atleast make it look like i did.

I do my job from 10:30 PM till 07:00 AM and thats it. So for those that feel like you cant like me, well then that should be the time for it. if you see me otherwise dont talk like a badge bunny and I really dont care to hear about how you know a cop or got pulled over some time. WE ALL HAVE..

I am 25, and before I was 22 I had 32 traffic citations and yes I lost my license but it was all related to hot rodding and being young so Im with ya unless your being absolutely retarded.

this is way OT but we all need to vent. I still love HOT RODDING though!!!

Popo i only see one thing wrong with what you've said.."Criminals Have Rights"
thats the problem all of us law following americans have with our system.

why do you think its called the "Criminal Justice System?" because when you are a criminal thats the only time anyone gives a fuck about your rights.

Yes your job is tuff..no one said you had to become a cop. But when you are to stand for something and see the corruption in law enforcement and turn a blind eye to it..its just as if you are saying its ok if its not me doing it..
No one is going to fool me into believing there are not "Quotas" and no one is going to fool me into believing there arent Government grants for Pushing certian traffic infractions.
I have 4 very good friends that are LEO..and a few Judges and a dam good Lawyer..and all of them agree with what I just said.

by the way of the military comments. I have been in the Army for 7 years and am currently a SSG in the Military Police training school, reserve side though.

And Von Rigg Fink, if there were quotas i wouldnt have a job, because for the last two weeks I have been sitting in my car in a dark lot reading up on back log of magazines that I couldnt get to when I was sitting there reading my school books so I could graduate two weeks ago.

And I didn't get into my job to bash in heads. I got into it because I hate just sitting back and watching. I dont sit back and see it and say Well its not me, What can I do. I work with a dept that is 170 officers in a town of 110,000. I cant go to other depts and make their officers better. I just work and be the best I can be, thats all I can help.

I dont take any of it personal anymore. I used to but like I said, I worry about making me the best I can be, the others hopefully will follow suit.

And reference the criminal having rights. I wish I could walk into a criminals house because i know they are criminals, or stop a vehicle because i know they have drugs in the car. but NO. we have the 4th amendment. That is the ultimate right for all, and if its violated Im finished for my career.

And about a dangerous job, Ive been to Iraq for 12 months. it was scary but I've have more dangerous situations in the city as a cop. Im not asking to be a hero, I'll wait for EMS to save that soul if I can't and I have a lot of medical training from the army.

This is so far OT now. wow. sorry.

I'd have to agree with the first two paragraphs. The guy was probably ticked because he had to walk a ways to get to the ATM and took it out on the car which he may or may not have known belonged to the guy who put the show on. In this case I don't think the guy was the least bit jelouse, just a lowlife with no reguard for others property.

The thing that bothers me the most is that in the past in Both Texas and Wa It was rare that a car was bothered or messed with at a run or show with the exception of someone leaning their fat butt against one or letting their kids slide on a fender. Now we are seeing posts all the time about cars being damaged.

One thing I learned early on from my Dad. When a cop stops you, be aware that me may have just pulled a lifeless child from a car that was hit by a drunk driver, street racer, druggie, etc (pick one).

Be polite, if he has you dead to rights, admit it, take what you got coming. In 40 years of driving I have been stopped numerous times, I can count the tickets on one hand. Most of the time it is, "See if you can slow it down Mr. Gordon, Have a nice day."

There is probably a reason this is an EX-cop. Anyway you slice it he is an asshole.

so a scumbag gets caught on tape F'ing up someones ride and now all of a sudden its a "good cop , bad cop" debate , who cares what this asshole did for a living before retiring? the point of the post is the guy got busted pretty much red handed, which is a rare occurance in vandlism cases (im sure there is more than a few of us who have our cars messed with) I just hope the guy whos car got keyed takes every legal action he can against this douchbag (then maybe 2-3 months from now go dump a jar of cat piss down his windsheild so he gets a "reminder" everytime he turns on his a/c)

Regardless of whether he is a retired cop or whatever. He needs to be punished to the full extent. Which, unfortunately will be a fine and or paying for damages. People are people, some are assholes and some aren't. He just punched his asshole card.

Just promise that you'll cut me a break if I'm ever passing through Iowa.

But I do agree, there are good and bad people in every line of work. The problem is that you tend to only remember when you have a negative experience.

Four cops could let you go for a broken tail light and the fifth guy who gives you a ticket you'll remember as "The asshole that gave me the ticket."

I've had a few "inappropriate" run-ins with some very over aggressive cops, but I don't hate them all just yet.

much love to all with traditional hot rods and even street rods or muscle cars

I'd give all of you a break just so you know. I would probably pull you over Illegally just to get a chance to check out your ride and ask you about it.

looking forward to breaking some laws this summer in the 49 if it even runs again. lol

-I once had a cop pull me over in my '69 Charger for not indicating a turn. Front turn signals were broken (had actually been smashed, possibly intentionally, before I got it) and since I'd had it all of three months by that point, hadn't yet been able to fix them.

But, he then told me right up front, that he'd stopped me because he was a Mopar fan, and heard my car had a Hemi. :D (It didn't, 383 4bbl with a 727 column shift. Nothing special.)

Nice guy, we probably would have chatted a bit longer, except we were in a fairly high traffic area.

    Doc.

How enlightened you are! What do you do for a living? I remember LOTS of cops and firemen running into burning buildings a while back. How about it? anyone of your profession do that lately? Usually people who have a dislike of the law are doing something wrong. There are good and bad folks in every job, every walk of life, everywhere. I served my country, and belive me, there were some incredible jerks in the military, as in every job I've ever had. To label every person by the acts of a few is ignorant. Just like saying all hot rodders are one way or another; it just does not wash.

Please re-read the post. It doesn't say he was blocking access to the ATM, it says he was parked in front of it.

I don't care if he's used to be the pope. The act of intentionally fucking with someone deserves an ass stomping. It's a basic rule of life. "Don't be a turd and You won't get flushed or stepped in."

The problem is that when the "good cops" cover for the "bad cops", thus making them all "bad cops". They can find an excuse for any and all behavior exhibited by an officer, and seem to never believe that a fellow officer can be a piece of shit. You see this crap all the time...running red lights, speeding...and generally acting like they are higher order of human being. A douche-bag is a douche-bag, and I believe that cops should face much higher/stiffer/more sever punishments when they are offenders. Other officers should hunt down and force out the shit-heads so that common people can trust them again.

I should mention that I have a bunch of cops in my family (so I have heard them make excuse after excuse for their fellow head-clubbers), just in the interest of full disclosure.

Cops confuse me ! Here in spokane they dress like nazis in all black and are real ass holes. I think we have to many traffic cops and when ever there is any thing on the ballet to support the police we should vote it down !! As for the cops on this board that was the choice you made .
