15 gal tank setup with fuel injection, vent canister mounted left of the tank and vented to the air breather, relays over the tank for fuel pumps (2, low and high pressure) and relay for vacuum pump (windshield wipers) and gel cell battery in the box. Vergil
Bill, I have this same tank in my Sedan. For the money, you could not have one built. It came from Summit. It has the roll over vent, fuel sender, pickup line, and return line fitting if needed already installed. It would priobably fit right up next to the back of your seat giving you even more room. You could either plum a fuel fill through the panel above, or a neck that comes back toward you and remains in the trunk. The summit Catalogue gives the dimensions, if you dont have one I am sure they are online as well.
I had a long answer with pics that disappeared before it posted - my fault and not the HAMBs. I'll dig out a tech article I wrote about this tank and post it. Titled: Fuel Tank Flanges There can be . . . and probaby are several problems with this tank in the fuel filler flange area.
This came out of a buddy of mine's A coupe - roadsters are the same. I was told it was a saddle tank from a 60's Chev pickup, but can't verify or dispute that. The bolts went down through a tube through the middle of the tank, has a guage, totally functional, been in use between my car and his about 15 years. Tim
Check mine out: http://www.taylorstreetrods.com/currentprojects/1929fordmodelacoupe.html One of the pics at the bottom of the page shows the 17 gallon tank in my rumble seat. -J
Just a small Fwiw: One gallon equals 231 cubic inches. Figure the cubic inch displacement of your tank and divide by 231 for gallons.
Here's mine. I went from a 12 gallon plastic marine tank with inside filler, to a 16 gallon Tanks, Inc. unit with outside filler cap and a real gas gauge. Big improvement, and much more trunk space.
