    Ok,
i have a Ford Flathead motor 49-53.i took the clutch out today.i measured the clutch disc it is 9 1/2" the pressure plate is also 9 1/2"
My question is simple i have not found any 9 1/2" clutch discs or pressure plates.
i have only found 9" and 10" or 11".the pressure plate is stamped with 9 1/2" on the fork side.
Who carries these 9 1/2"clutch kits? i also looked locally to see if it could be rebuilt but couldnt find anyone.anyone have any leads or part numbers?????

I had a local place build a a 9.5" disc with early Ford splines. I know this doesn't help you really, but the places that do it are out there.

  3. I've used this place for many many years. Ott's Friction supply. 503-283-4165 They are on the other Coast but when you have no other choices the Brown Truck can be a life saver.

9.5" is the standard p***enger car size for 49-54 8BA-style engines. Trucks got 11" & 10" was only used on 59A-style engines & some Mercs. These are general guidelines (exceptions to all rules!).

I don't have a catalog handy, but I think I got my last 9.5" clutch at Joblot in NY - they had 'em on the shelf. I'll bet Mac's & Sacramento Vintage & C&G and all the other guys have 'em too...it's a standard flathead size.

OK - Just looked at Mac's website:
    Clutch Disk - P/N B7A-7550-D ($39.95)
    Pressure Plate - P/N C5AZ-7563-A ($128.95)

Don't know if this'll help but I saw what appeared to be (wasn't looking that close) the 9 1/2" cluthch & PP on the shelf at Vintage Ford and Chevy Parts of Arizona (So Cal AZ) when I was there 6 or so weeks ago. Parts for sale, not display only stuff. Might be an option, if the others are backordered.

Here's another place that is good also and shipped free on the last clutch set I bought for a Flathead T-5 conversion about a month ago:

10" was available '49 on, but is impossibly rare. It was a HD option mostly for fleet sales to police, taxis...ain't never found one.
Kevin tried ***embling the 91/2 plate on a 9" early Ford disc and had problems from different thickness, I think??

  10. I should have mentioned this place is a Rebuilder. Not just over the counter sales. You can send them your core and get the same one back rebuilt. They also do brake shoes and arc them to new turned drums.
