Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder" is a great road tune and might be my favorite, but I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Hank Mobley's "A Caddy for Daddy" because I drove non-stop round-trip from Berkeley CA to Santa Fe NM in the winter of 1977 to go to a freaking PARTY and the ONLY tape I had in the car was this classic 60's Blue Note date. So whenever I'm on a long road trip I think of that album . . .

    Depends on the mood...

If I'm just cruisin around, maybe a little Rat Pack / 40s Big Band or Social D. If I'm really feeling frisky, maybe Blacktop Sunshine or Demon Speeding by Rob Zombie...

  21. I've got lotsa favs, but the tune that always pops into my head when this question is asked is "Easy Rider" by Iron Butterfly. That song always makes my throttle foot heavy. :D

Dude...did you break into my cd collection?

If "Fuel" by Metallica doesn't make you exceed the speed limit, you need to get to a cardiologist immediately.

Pantera- walk, mouth for war, domination
    Social D-any song will do
    Stray cats-" "
    Doors- LA Woman
Pretty Maids- Future World (you have to be a headbanger from the 80's to appreciate this one. Its kinda gay now, but I used to blast it while driving like a complete idiot through Carbon Canyon)

Dokken-Mr Scary- (crazy long guitar solo by George Lynch)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ46M_BMOD0
Any song from Van Halen 1
    Santana/Everlast-Put your lights on
Guns n Roses-anything from Appetite (esp. Out ta Get Me)
    Rage Against the Machine
