Well boys I have thrown in the shop rag>>After bolting on my Tri-power setup on my sbc 6 months ago I have giving up hope that I can ever get it dailed in. I have exhausted all of my resources. I have had the car running and driving but there is always some sort of issue. I know that these set-ups when dialed in correctly can be reliable but not mine.I have had several mechanics help me out,and have spent lots of cash on new parts, and have fixed alot of issues myself with the help of Hambers inputs to my posts. But I really need a guy who as experience with tri power set ups that can come out to my house or has a shop locally to help me dial this set up in. After having three dueces under the hood it would kill me to put a 4 barrel back on. So if any Hambers know of anyone in the Phoenix area that could help me out please PM me. No charity work I will reimburse person for their time.

P.S>Hey Abomination you coming to Arizona any time soon.lol

there is a guy on the west side that is really good with these. He has a repair shop.

He is the same guy that owned that goofy blown pink t-bucket.

Kramer the upholstery guy knows him.

What sort of issues are you having? Progressive or straight linkage? Idle circuits blocked off in the secondaries? Power valves blocked off in secondaries? Vacuum or mechanical advance dist?

With out more on the symptoms hard to tell.

Block off the front and rears, get it to run right on the center, then add the outers. They are even simpler than the middle. If you can make the middle work you can figure the outers. Is it a stock engine? Trying to feed it too much carb? What are the jet sizes? Are the throttle shafts wore out? Are you running legit tri power carbs? You should be able to do your in town driving without the mech linkage tripping the outer carbs at all. Mech secondaries don't like high gears and a heavy car. I run a tripower on my gto and it rips. You can do it. Those air cleaners are ridiculous. No flow.

Thanks Jerry, The issues I am having are the car will not start mornings without starting fluid. Once it starts and warms up its okay it will start up again no problem. Right now it idles real rough and after about 3 min of idling it back fires thru the center carb and dies. If you turn it of while its running it diesels. It also takes a ton of force on the gas pedal to get the secondaries to open. Its just a culmination of all sorts of little issues that when I fix one another one pops up. I have 2 old school mechanic friends who are scratching their heads they cant get it dialed in and have given up on it.. The carbs all all rebuilt, 3 psi fuel pressure, secondaries are set up as just dumps, vacuum advance distributor. The setup has run decent but there has always been an issue.
