    spotted this " allard " at a car show I immediatley noticed the sweet VW balljoint beam.
    Ummm did Allards use VW suspension to hold the V8's off the ground?

    yeah, and those are nos Allard radials from the 40's too.

    Swing arm suspensions are known for jacking up on cornering. Thats why the Corvair got a bad handling rep. The swingarm rear would lift up on hard corners.

    We had this discussion a couple of times before...

    Swingaxle Cars can handle very well.

    Loads of Imps, Davarians, Abarths, Mercedes', NSU's, and Road Race Specials like the Allard, Lotus, Mallock, etc, have been able to win lots of Races with them.

    So they were at least on par with the other Compe***ion Cars of the time.

    And I've seen Cars with different suspension Designs go upside down as well....

    Rear suspension has m***ive Camber Changes through its travel like a Swing Axle.
