Just wanted to post some pics of my younger brothers, just painted, 1948 Chevy Fleetline.

He has really put alot of hard work and $$ into the Fleetline and he is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

He's an "oil rig roughneck" for Halliburton, so he deserves it. With a 21 day on 9 days off schedule and a 2-5 hour sleep schedule during those 21 days, I don't know how he does it, so when he comes home, this is how he relaxes, with his cruiser.

He is finishing up the chrome strip polishing and should get the bumpers back from the chrome shop in 3 weeks and the interior should be done next month.

He was also voted in as a Viejitos Car Club RGV Chapter member this past weekend.

I wish I could say I taught him a couple of things, but I have never had a car this nice before, so he way ahead of me.

Before (old gray paint) and after pics (root beer and tan two tone).

    I'm proud of him.

Yeah, he's 30 yrs old. The car is bagged in the rear and will be bagged upfront also soon, its got a nova subframe, 350/350 combo, it drives really nice.

That car spend a majority of its life in Reynosa, Mexico, right across the South Texas Border, it had been bought back and forth from people who wanted it in the states and in Mexico. In Reynosa the roof was caved in by kids that would use it as a slide. It had been parked for a while out there.

It was eventually "saved" and brought back to the US about 6-7 years ago and the previous owner did alot of the suspension work, then ran out of steam and my brother heard about it and jumped on the chance.

Several older car guys in the area remember the car from way back when.

It's pretty much complete, all he is doing now is replacing all the parts that are a worn out, pitted or beyond repair. This is a huge motivator for me also, since he got the car he has been very focused on the end result, a clean OG lowrider, I realized I need to apply that focus to my "build" and get it finished also, its been an eye opener for sure.

He's not a HAMBer, but I wanted to make sure he knew his hard work is appreciated by our community.

First of all I would like to thank my brother and wife for being very supportive. Without there help and support I probably would have given up already..... as you know it takes alot of time and $$$$. :D
I am very anxious to see the end results but God willing before my 30th birthday (June 28) I am hoping to see this car painted, accessorized and bagged. I will post some pictures once i get my rechrome parts and baggs. Thanks Guys for your support. Viejitos In Da House! RGV TEJAS.

    Friends, my brother Ricky Casanova.

"og48fleetline" welcome bro, this is the place I always tell you about, this forum is where the "Round Up" originalted, which by the way was the reason we moved up to Austin 5 years ago.

This is where I get all my "knowledge" :D
