53 chevy truck specs

what is the wheel base of short bed truck? what about the track width?(wheel mount to wheel mount)? anyone have pictures of a bare frame?

 

according to the salemans handbook, copyright dated 1950, the wheelbase of a model 3104 [1/2 ton] is 116". they also list the front track width @ 56-9/16" and the rear track width @61". the track width is defined as the center line of the tire tread to the center line of opposite tire tread.

 

are the frame rails straight or do they taper.do they have any kick-up or down?

 

I happen to have one in the back yard, the frame rails measure 25 1/8" from outside to outside on the front and 46 1/8" from outside to outside on the back. I have a cab and front clip on the frame but it appears to kick up in the back. Hope that helps.

 

There is about a 3 inch kick up over the rear axle that comes back down level after teh axle/ The 54 model only has about a 1 inch kick up.
