For you hemi experts, what is the "max" amount of timing for a 392, supercharged, burning 116 octane, 9:1 compression with 11 lbs. of boost for a drag car?
what type of ignition do you have? if it is something that is really hot, say 8-10 amps you won't need as much timing. 38 would be the max but you will have problems with detenation and you will smash bearings. start off at 34 and then you can work towards more lead if you need it. hope this helps.
When you go past 36 you increase the risk of breaking cylinder walls......the more you go the bigger the risk.
I was just looking in my Hemi Book and most guys say 28 degrees max... but bring it all in early at about 2200 rpm's...
