Hood doesn't fit snug to cowl or sides. Flares out as seen in the pics. Anyone have any advice. Tried adjusting the hinges and still nothing.

This is on a 1946 chevy stylemaster.

You do any cutting or metal work on the hood at all ?? Or on the body in that area?

Mig or Tig? What probable happened is it heated up and shrank the metal around the weld pulling it up and in. Need to destress the weld this might bring it back a little bit. Worst case have to do some form work to pull it back against the body. If you have a shrinking disk this would probable be the easiest way to pull it back .

Seems to fit close enough at the A pillar but looks like it's about an inch or more low at the hood latch in front, judging by the gap across the top of the cowl.
You might have flattened out the peak in thecenter of the hood causing the sides to flare some, but it's more than that.
I think you'll find the whole front end needs to come up at the front.
Also, the door is about a half inch too far in.
You still need to line it up with where it was supposed to be before you shaved the drip rails.

Does the door line up at the quarter panel?
Can you post a full 3/4 front and side views?

Sure can. The doors are just held in place. I will have to hang them tonight. The chop was done by another fella and I just finished the project up. But Seeing everything fit before I welded. I'm afraid I've hit the "I'm a dumb***" part of my build. ha Everything seems to line up just not the hood.

I'll get some more pics tonight. Here is everything I have

    Hey,

Did the hood fit worth a ****, prior to doing any welding on it?
If so, the fix should be fairly simple. Some fender straps and a
come-a - long should pull them inboard. A BFH and a block of
wood may be necessary for final adjustment.
If you move the rt. door out 1/2'', as Dr.J suggested, ya may
be lookin' at a hell of a wind noise problem.

It seems to have fit when I prefitted it, but then again the doors weren't bolted up. The doors definitely are inside were they should be and the fenders are lined up, it's that damn side flaring thats kicking my nuts right now.

And it was a Mig welder.

    Hey,

Dial in your door alignments, than work foward to the dog house.
Since ya can't move the cowl, adjust the hood for a perfect gap,
there. Hang and align the fenders to the doors, and if you still can't
get an exceptable gap/fitment at the sides with a block and 2lb.
hammer, ya can always place some releif cuts, as necessary to dial
    it in.
