Just picked up a Stude 289 motor off of sleazebay and need to get it shipped from The Coral Gables area of FL to the SF Bay area of CA sometime in the near future. Anybody here interested in helping out? Glad to pay of course. I already checked with BenD, but he isn't headed that way for anything at the moment. I'll get it shipped via a trucking co. of some sort if not, but thought I would check here first to keep it in the hamb family if possible. Otherwise, if anyone has any good trucking recommendations and experiences, that would be helpful too. It is a whole entire motor and likely the trans., so Greyhound isn't going to work for this one. Thanks.

post it on uship.com. Companies submit bids that you can pick from. My engine is on there right now and has a bid of $250 to ship from South Texas to Maryland door to door.

Thanks, yes, that is one of the things I saw in a previous post and was going to try it if no hambers were interested.

Not to side track this thread but, what part of MD are you from? I grew up around the Salisbury/OC and Chestertown areas on the shore. Headed back at the end of the month to visit with the family and will be staying in Easton. Not a huge number of traditionalists in MD.

I'm up in Aberdeen. North of Balto. I'm in the Marine Corps and stationed at the Army base as a Weapons instructor. I have a really good friend that lives down in Easton. He's a cop but I don't hold it against him. haha.

There are some decent hods up here. There's usually a gathering on Friday nights and there are a few worth looking at. A LOT of camaros and mustangs but not all of the cars there are Mullet-Mobiles.

    btt last time.

I went ahead and posted it on uship (thanks for the tip sociallydistorted :) ) and seems like a pretty cool site and concept. Got 1 halfway decent shipping quote so far. But, if there are any hambers interested in making a few bucks and helping out, let me know in the next few days.
