I have a 53' ply cranbrook and was wondering something about the 3 speed transmission. I had a severe leak that was dripping gear oil all over the deck. I took the tranny down and noticed they are pretty well sealed. there is a gasket between the tranny and the bell housing. on one side of the tranny, there is a hole that goes in to the body of the tranny right below the upper right bolt hole (what is that hole for). is it possible to leak from this area. where are these things known to leak. can i clean it up, disgard the gasket and slap some right stuff on there and put it back in? Thx fellas!

Wish I could help, I just wanted to add that I am having the same problem, but I assumed it was motor oil from the rear main seal. Maybe mine is just leaking from the tranny too? Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks. You might try this question at the p15-d24 forum as well.
    Thanks,
    CHAZ

I just pulled mine out and put in a small belly button block chev.
