Trans not shifting?

I'm having problems with my transmission, it won't shift out of first! It's a 700r4. The fluid looks goo and at the proper level, still nothing. A couple of ays ago it would shift if i put it into '2' and then put into drive, but now it won't shift at all. Any ideas?

 

Did you properly adjust your Throttle valve control cable as per the 100's of web sites cautioning against running it with out ***uring this is done. if not can you spell toast?????

 

TV cable controls everything on those ******s. Without it will destroy the clutches inside. Check the shifter adjustment also.

 

What year is the ******?

 

got it. TV cable needs adjusting and im missing the bushing/washer that keeps the spring up against the shift linkage on the transs

 

If you drove it with a mal-adjusted TV cable, it only takes a few blocks of driving to kill it.
