Just received email from a friend details below, didnt make the drags myself but my thoughts are with the Driver On Saturday there was a bad crash at the Nostalgia Drags in Ballarat, Victoria Australia, 1/8th mile on Airstrip Burgo the driver is reportedly OK, his ride NUTT"N FANCY is toast. Body and Ch***is would be stuffed maybe he can save something though Before pic No after pics have emerged but here is crash http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0-v4q25M_c
here's some pics of the crash the guy walked away with a couple of scratches and bruises but has already started rebuilding. Unfortunately his wife is making him get rid of the blown and injected small block
Burgo the driver went to work on the monday after the crash saturday and 9 hour drive home on the sunday. Looks to me like that cage paid for it self double time, that is reason we put them in cars. Very lucky.
WOW!!!! Glad he is OK and it seems like it hasn't scared the life out of him. Who ever took the pic of the crash did a hell of a job. Good luck and hopefully someone will post pics of the re-build.... If the guy is not a HAMBer... he should be.
What a great lookin' A.First off, glad he,s ok and then hopefully, able to put the pieces back together.Nostalgic
Al is not down and out; he has been hot rodding and drag racing for too long to give up. He was planing his next project before he was released from hospital. Glad you were not hurt too much and lookin' forward to seeing the new ride.
Props go out to the driver of the Mustang for getting there first. That's sportsmanship fellas! I guess that crashing is also one of the risks of driving and racing these old cars. Glad to hear he's OK!
man that hurt`s to watch ! glad he`s OK . but that poor model a looks like that right rear tire started slipping ?
Glad he's okay. Any clue what happened? I was wondering if the steering/suspension broke before the swerve. I doubt the driveshaft let go, or if it did that it could drop to the pavement.
