Speedway, themselves, are not an Alliance Vendor.

...but, as already stated, you can try to go through another Alliance Vendor.

FYI. I ordered stuff from Speedway this week and put some comments on my check out (on line order). Tim called me today to ask me about them and I pointed out that they should be HAMB Alliance Vendors and he said all he can do is talk to Bill. He said 'No' last time but he said he's been getting a lot of requests from us so maybe his mind will change.

Power in numbers, make sure you tell them you want them to support the Alliance whenever you order!

I wish I'd have seen this thread the other day and I would have ordered from an Alliance Vendor. Not to late, there is always next week!

Speaking of which, do any Alliance Vendors sell AD Chevy parts? Window gaskets, hinge pins, glove box materials, etc?

Here's my experience. I order most of my parts from VAPHead. He checks prices and lets me know if he can help or or not. Works real good.

Speedy bill has been into race parts forever and racers like shit cheap and of course light weight . We used to buy a lot of stuff from them for the sprint car. Heres the way i look at it.. If it can be used on a hot rod and a race car then look close real close cause it very well could be cheap shit.. On the other parts id say the mr roadster stuff is ok but they sure very on savings and their markup. Look close at the catalog and maybe check on line also to be sure of the quality you are getting.. Remember though they have one hell of a return policy and dont really ask a lot of questions.. they will take it back cause you fucked up :) thats cool..

Speedway Motors is to busy counting there money and jerking around customers/vendors to join, but many vendors around your area would be happy to treat you like a valued customer. Keep the money in your area.:D

I've been in email contact with Speedway over these last few months and have been assured that they are in the process of "cleaning up their act" after receiving the results of a number of customer surveys they have conducted. I got a lot of shit straightened out with them after informing them about problems I had with previous orders....they corrected everything to my satisfaction. I'd like to see them continue with that kind of overview & service;...we'd ALL benefit from it! for whatever it's worth!

....thinkin bout gettin back with the Screamin' stiletto Bandits again;...now THEY knew how to have fun!

I've always had good luck with Speedway as far as getting the parts I ordered and those parts being high quality..... but it seems like everything I've ordered lately has been back ordered and then taken three months or more to come in.

Mayb if enough of us request it they'll join up.

I've never had a problem with Speedway. They were even easy to deal with on a part exchange when I ordered the wrong part number.

Can we get past the "too busy countin' their money" bullshit about successful businesses? Have you seen Jeg's house and cars? Have you seen Speedy's warehouse and collections? Yeah - amazing shit. And all they did to get it was work their asses off for 25 to 50 years - while offering the lowest prices on parts AND driving down the prices by getting thousands of people to buy the stuff so manufacturers can get the scale they need to lower their own production costs.

Are they perfect? No, their companies are only as good as the least qualified guy in the line. But don't bust the balls of anybody who has had the guts and smarts to build a giant business AND STILL OFFER ROCK BOTTOM PRICES to their customers.

No, I don't work for or even know either of the men, but I have spent lots of money with their businesses and have never had any problems in 20 years.

And good advice on the quality issues, though - "if seems too good..."

I'm with the no problem guys.
20 years of race and hot rod parts buying from Speedway, Back to before the internet, Race on Saturday, figure what you need on Sunday, order Monday. Parts arrive regular ground by Thursday. Put car back together, Race again on Saturday. Repeat as neccessary.

Never had a return or a back order.

Am I lucky or are they good?

Never had a problem with Speedway, had problems figuring out the spring rate I needed on my coilover shocks, returned three sets that were too stiff, no problem what so ever.

  25. I live in Hawaii and getting things here sometimes a'int so easy. I called speedway on tues. to order a straight axle ,springs, brake kit . The price was pretty good(didn't even think about alliance member) .Then the rep quotes a shipping price that makes him choke. I give him some options of how I have shipped heavy stuff in the past .He told me he had to check back with shipping and would get back to me. This morning he calls with a fantastic price for the shipping. I ordered it will see how long it takes.

One thing Tim told me today was that if you order on the 'net it doesn't tell you that you can request alternate shipping. They will manually do Priority Mail, etc. and you can usually get the Saturday Delivery option if you do Next Day. I could have saved more if I'd have called during the day but when I pointed out the time I ordered, he was glad I didn't call. 12:43 am or something. I'd just come in from working on the truck and making a list. I paid the extra $10-12 shipping for 2nd day and I got it today (Friday) so I can thrash all weekend.

Yeah, I would have liked to have kept that $10-12 for other parts but I didn't want to twiddle my thumbs all weekend wishing I'd had the few things I needed. Too few around here left that actually carry ANYTHING so I can order through Speedy or I can order through NAPA. At least Speedy has pictures of the products on line and a better chance of getting what I need versus the counter jockey that doesn't know a Honda from a Hyundai.

  27. I agree. They didn't get there fucking people over. I've bought lots of stuff from them, always great service.

  28. Speedway is usually my first choice when I order parts!

Has this thread lost its way.

I got $2000 worth of goodies from Speedway and within a week realised I could have used Alex Gambino with the rest of the stuff I got from him.
Rather give a HAMB Alliance member my coin than a stranger, especially if I save a buck or two.
