I made reservations on the Queen Mary over 6 months ago for Fri and Sat night. I called to confirm a couple of days ago and they screwed it up. It was for Sun and Mon. Boy, was I pissed. I canceled the whole thing. I wonder if they screwed it up because they realized they could charge more for my room on Fri and Sat.
I guess things really are different on The LEFT coast. It just seems like the opposite end of the spectrum to what represents to me at least what your show is marketed to. Like I said a bunch of pretty much tattooed up dudes and chicks dressed up an looking "X" or "R" rated with a "G" restriction code imposed on them. The irony is wickedly funny. Most of the rules are plain common sense I can understand , also as HRP said "WTF is this Communist China" that is what this show reeks of. Good luck with it and I mean that. More rules of what you cannot do rather than what you can...sounds like a job for the Snugglers if you ask me...Oh yeah I forgot no "colors". Oh well thank god for Cheaterama here in the Midwest. Rome
No. We all have to pay the same as everybody else. I wish Trace would call me back,to clear up some of the questions....
I hear ya! Some day i'll go to the "NO RULES",east coast and have some real fun.... I'm just as curious as you to see what will happen this year.
..haha..yea i remember that...everytime i turned around a different stripper/**** star/single mom was on top of our hoods..i should of not brought my chick...DAMMM!!
Yea I'm vending at the event and the rules are ridiculous. Hey Law....from the paper work I got, anything with a removable lens (like mine and your 20d's) is considered professional and therefore not allowed....
Thread from last year... Might help if your on the fence about going http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188239&highlight=Ink+iron+pic's
The rules don't sound that bad for a concert in California. I'd be there if I lived closer, especially since Junior Brown is going to be there. If it were only a car show that would be another story.
That's so ****in funny!!! I remember taking this pic and when I got home it freaked me out cause it looked like me,LOL!!!! WHAT THE...HOW THE ****....
Thanks for the info man. That is just ********. I was going to make the trek from Sac to hit this one up. Ill just wait till midnight m*** in july. Im pretty sure they will let me bring my ****ing camera.
I take about 400 pic's or so, so I will be posting a thread, like usual. I just have one those point and click things! I'm cheap,LOL!!!!
JUST MY OPINION: I went to this show before, if your in it for the vendors, bands and tattoo artist, then its ok. BUT as far as a carshow, you'll endup walking the show in less than 1 hour to 30min. If I pay even 20 bucks for a carshow I want to be walking all day get a wrist band to come back in, leave to eat lunch and come back. Certainly not worth 35 bucks for a carshow. This more of a lifestyle rockabilly show. Just incase car people are coming expecting to see more than a lot full of cars. And if your dead nuts on going to a car show just wait a week and go to the Fathers's day Roadster show. Again this just my opinion. This show is on my list of things not to do.
Funny,Abe. I think we had this discussion the last TWO years. IT IS NOT A CARSHOW!!!! It's a tattoo show....that also has cars to view, while you are enjoying the TATTOO SHOW!!!! At least we don't have to hear you complain again about "not enough cars" this year,LOL!!!! Don't go! If it's the cars you into....then YES,wait a week for the L A Roadster Show. The guy who puts this show on,does other tattoo shows, but wanted to add the cars to this show, since it was so successful. Each year the carshow has gotten bigger and better. BUT it doesn't compare to a regular carshow. I think he has enough room for about 200 to 300 cars,I think. Not sure. I think two years ago there was 60-70 cars. Sunday brunch on the ship is a CAN'T MISS thing too!!!!
WOW sounds like a party !!! What about playing loud music in my car or hitting my air ride up and down all day?
I won't be able to go if they plan to enforce the "No burnouts" rule. Burnouts have feelings too, ya know?
on the website, under FAQ...it says "no stuff animals".....i guess my girlfriend aint going.even disneyland isnt that strict.
Anyone know who owns that Track-T. I saw it at Brandons Cl***ics web-site in Florida. It had been for sale for years. Thought about buying it but it didn't come with a ***le.
"Anyone found starting and revving their engine will be cited by the Long Beach Police Dept." Thats a weird rule!!! I know what they are trying to stop but will the Police just walk around and write tickets to people who have started their cars? will this not cause more problems? If the carshow is secondary to the tattoo convention, and is only a after thought according to the people running the show, and given all the rules that need to be enforced, inorder to keep the Queen Mary people happy whay have the car show portion? Risk vs Benifit it does not make sense! What is the ticket they give you going to say!!!! Unlawfully starting of car on private property? will that be the charge? Sorry Bob I know you guys put a ton a work into this show and I can respect that. You guys are a great bunch of guys! if you want to have a show courtesy of the MOFO's do your own!!!!! And have fun doing it!!! John
Damn, and I thought New York was ****ed up !!!!! Why would anybody go to a show with rules like that ?
you forgot to post the rest of the rules: no walking and talking while chewing gum no more than 3 minorites in one place at one time (more than 3 can be cons***uted as a gang) No bringing the above mentioned but we gladly accept visa, master charge, food stamps or any other form of money dont forget when walking the show you must always be with your ***ighned partner
unless you have a tattoo appointment scheduled with someone who doesn't live in socal. this show's retarded, save your money for the l.a. roaster show/swap meet the next weekend. no, I take that back. go to the show an suc***b to the long beach police festivities.
