I am going to be in Bellevue WA from sunday afternoon (6-1) to friday -late (6-6) what is going on in the area. I will be in training at Talyst Acute Care in Preston during the day(8-5) but nights look free. I s there any shops to visit or things to see or cruzes or shows or bars etc car or motorcycle related. Thanks,
Bellevue is a bit uppity...... But there is the All Ford picnic show at Bellevue Community College on the 1st. and a Mopar show at the **X drive-in in Issaquah, same day.
Unless you speak like Thurston Howell III., nobody in Bellevue will know what you are talking about. Other than the Ford Picnic on June 1st, I have no reason to go near that town. In fact I usually go out of my way to avoid going there. Dave
Not sure exactly where its at, but I know it's close, is the Museum of Flight. It's at Boeing Field where they deliver all their new planes. I am not really into planes that much but they have a lot of cool stuff. Concorde, Air Force One, WWII & WWI exhibits, I could go on and on, way more stuff than you could ever absorb in one visit.
im not from wa but have a brother up there, didnt seem like to much to do in bellevue, good bars in seatle though, your only like i dont know 15-20 minutes from seattle. good irish bar close to the fish market area (kels?).
Sometimes there are get togethers with various groups of automotive people down at the **X burger joint in Issaquah. Thats just down the hill from Preston on I-90. Maybe you can check them out online and see if anything is happening during the week. Other wise your best bet is try to hook up with a Seattle area HAMBer. Maybe they can show you some of the stuff on the Seattle side. Bellevue dies out pretty early in the evening for a decent sized city.
If you like shooting some pool and checking out a couple things around where I live, Im just north of bellevue by about 15 minutes. Private message me and leave your name and number.
Awe, come on guys, you know he can always go tour Microsoft. HAHAHA Try and check out **X. Just going over there and having a burger and a root beer is worth it. Larry
well, i have the distinct (dis)pleasure of living in Bellevue for the time being, and the **X is the closest 'fix' around. http://www.triplexrootbeer.com/ has a calendar of events. i'm watching this discussion to see what else is available locally for me as well.
do you like shopping for gucci purses haha!! I would reccomend checking out what the rest said **x all be out there for the mopar show.. if you want shot me pm and we can meet up and have a cold one at the show
There is a really cool bar in Seattle (Georgetown I think?) called Smarty Pants. They have some cool vintage motorcycle decor and great sandwiches! Been awhile since I've been there, so hopefully it is still there. Not very far from Bellevue.
if you have never been to seattle hit the chamber of commerce site and they will know whats going on. don't leave town without having some salmon because you will be sorry.
Cant do ****s without rolling Broadway with your posse... Did a quick check of the calendar of events and I do not show much going on.
The Ford picnic is at Bellevue Community College just north of I-90. Not a lot of rods but some very nice cars none the less. Gotta go to **X also just off I-90 at the Front Street exit. Saturday afternoon is an impromptu car show and Sunday has something scheduled almost every weekend. Downtown Bellevue is fun to wander around if you like to people watch. But like everyone else says, it's a little on the stick up your nose at the po' folk side of the tracks. Get bored email. I live about 5 miles from Preston. Always have a cold one in the fridge.
Jump on I-90 and head east. The next town will be Issaquah ("is-ah-qwah"). There's 2 exits from the freeway, take THE SECOND ONE. When you get down to the light, turn left. That'll be Front Street that you're now on. Keep driving until you see the "**X" restaurant (If you have to ask someone, ask them where the "Triple X" drive-In is at). Love seeing the "comments" about living in Bellevue, too. LOL! Can't believe I used to trapse all over there, back when I lived in Bothell. From lumber to coal to Gucci....wtf? Sounds like Georgetown is changing. I remember when Ben's was out there. Back when I worked on U-Hell trucks, I used to take 5 back to the ferry dock and the traffic jam would always start at the Corson exit. If I was more than 3 minutes late, I couldn't squeeze in to catch the exit. That'd send me straight through the heart of Georgetown and at some point, I'd make a couple of turns and be on the road that crosses the railroad track and goes under either the freeway or the bridge (W.Seattle). Next thing I knew, I was driving along the water and around the traffic. ****ed when a train came by, though. ...ah, the good ol' days 6narow
