BTTT...a jump start with a good 12 volt battery and jumper cables might do it for him...

Damn! I didn't see this until about 12:10. Was headed that direction when Ruiner got back to me saying they were mobile again. (He must have a wireless modem or something.)

Anybody along 63 and 52 that can keep tabs on this?
Is there a HAMBer phone book connected to the board?

  10. Thanks for the concern guys. I made it to just short of Mason City where I pulled over again to let things cool down a bit. Parked on a downward slope so I could roll the car to a start if the starter wouldn't turn it over fast enough. (runnin on 5 cylinders, remember) Got cooled down starter would not do it, so I tried to push it down hill. Old cars don't roll to good in gravel. Along came Johnny and his gal pal. One shove from his mighty hands and the car rolled fast enough in second gear to start. All was good til 40 miles from home when the old flathead six gave her final breath. A $125.00 tow later we were both home. Thanks again for your concern.

See, it pays to have big dumb strong guys in your club, not only can they single-handedly help Jeff (vanhamilton) stage dive in a bar, they can push start your cars by themselves...glad you made it home brother, Melissa and I both made it home safe too...call me when it's time to do the motor swap...hehehe
